Cabs? I work downtown, They're all over the place. Around Tulane, they are harder to get because many times they get a call, show up, and nobody is there. I've never seen a uber car anywhere in nola.

Don't believe you. All cabs in nola are new.

Well this van had 178,000 miles on it and transmission problems.

That's what I'm asking. Are they outlawed or something?

The cabbies apparently have been successful getting unlicensed chauffeurs banned from some cities. I was wondering if that was the case in NOLA....or if there was a reason Uber never seems available.

I am from the state with the worst education but even I can see Uber is cheaper.

Than it wasn't a Nola cab. What was the name on the cab? You souls report the cab name and number to the city. That cab is in violation of many new rules and should be off the streets.

I mean it was a NOLA cab. It had the New Orleans medallion number and everything.

Lolz at reporting them...no way in hell that organization wants improvement of its product.

LOL, Cabbies are MAD as hell at the city now because all cabs have to be no older than 7 years old, accept Credit, have GPS and some other stuff I can't remember. They picketed City hall for months, even tried to shut down traffic downtown. The city is ALL OVER THAN.

it took a few months for alot of uber cars to show up in Baton Rouge. I think nola has had it since october so id expect after the new year for them to have more.

The last time i took a cab in nola it was fricking shite. The cab was an old beat up van, the seatbelt didn't work in the back and we saw someone hit a roller bladder and the cab guy kept trying to yell at the woman while we were driving through a not so good area. He lost his tip on that.
