My son got in trouble for saying "Negro"....

...at school, when referring to the United Negro College Fund. He simply asked what the difference was between a black person and a negro.

Got pulled into the hallway and was told "we don't use the word negro"..... I'm having a chat with the principal tomorrow morning. No news cameras.

What in the hell is happening to this country? Sad....

Just saying, when I got in trouble as a kid I always stretched the truth a little when telling the story to my parents so it's possible your son actually committed a hate crime

I had a HS teacher tell me last week that she had to have a discussion with one of her white students about how people of color can't be racist.

He didn't get in trouble , he was asked to refrain from saying negro.

The teacher probably thought he was trying to be a little shite by playing dumb (he probably was). This isn't a big deal.

I guess this explains why the can of Frijoles Negros in my pantry had on a white hood .

The word negro hasn't been used in polite conversation since probably the 80's. Get with the times, grandpa.
