Venice is awesome. It's not supposed to be anything but a fishing town, I dont know why anyone would expect anything else. It's so small that it shouldn't even be in this discussion

Overated: Mamou. There's only so much Fred's you can do.
Well now, there's always the bar at the Cazan Hotel, or Tigers.
But the real action is in Pointe Aux Pins.

Venice is not a fishing town. If you think it is then you've never been to a fishing town.
Venice is an offshore oil and gas port. That's it. People just use the marina there to sleep and launch their boats.

People that live in Thibodaux think this place is heaven on earth but its just another Donaldsonville with a college.
I could not agree more with this statement. People who live here act like it is so great. There is nothing to do. I live in Houma and work in Thibodaux.
Thib Tiger you did not live in Houma. You lived in Bayou Blue!

I live in Natchitoches for 5 years (my alma mater) and I generally agree, though I will fight you over the meat pies. I don't think I could go back. The only real nice area of the town proper is front street and the few neighborhoods around it.
Everything else is pretty much a small-scale baton rouge. Bad traffic, significant gang activity that doesn't get talked about..my last week there some people walked in on a burglary and got shot in broad daylight. My freshman year there there was a multiple homicide (drug related from what I remember)
Natchitoches portrays itself in a much different light than the actuality of the town.
Chef Wok is fricking awesome though.

Overrated :NOLA
Underrated: New Iberia...mostly because you don't hear many talk about it
New Orleans, because barely a soul outside of the state can name another city in the state.
New Iberia, a surprisingly and interesting cool town that only one person has mentioned in this thread.
