Not really, just BMW. SC has BMW. GA has Kia. MS has Nissan. TN and AL have multiple.

We also got Volvo. If you want to count vans, Mercedes is also here.

Cheap living, low taxes, big new McMansion, the ability to live in like-minded neighborhoods.

All that southern migration could turn though, due to… you guessed it.

when you look at those areas that have been, for many decades now, actually the boomtown areas of America, the areas that have absorbed a lot of the internal migration – the Southwest, Texas, Florida – those are the areas where that population is going to turn around

We've also been able to lure other major corporations/brands into the state - Boeing being the most obvious get. Michelin also opened up a massive plant in Greenville not too long ago and Sonoco is another large employer.

We once doubled the size of the United States because we needed New Orleans so badly. How the turntables.

That Alabama one has to be off. fricking traffic gets worse every day. And they're building way too many damn houses and apartments around this area.

We have a Toyota plant in Blue Springs, also have cooper and continental tires. Mossy oak, realtree, drake, Winchester ammo, a lot of furniture manufacturers, shipbuilding, there’s more but you get the picture. We have issues but I wouldn’t say lack of manufacturing is the main one.

So this message board making fun of California for losing citizens is like a monkey throwing shite at another monkey basically.

Most of this board hates Louisiana too.

Quick glance 12 blue states gained? 16 red states gained?

The states with the highest percentage gains are all overtly red. The blue states with moderate gains are Maine, NH, Nevada, annd Washington. 3/4 are moderate blue states next to heavily blue areas in NE and California. I’m sure you’re probably realize this and are just doing your contrarian thing though.

Only two yellow states I could imagine living in would be MS or KS. I'd put NM as a maybe as I've never been there before.

Quick glance also, every one of the dark blue/biggest increases are red states.

All but 4 or so of the yellow decreases are blue states, but if you did it by population, I imagine the blue states would have wayyyyyyyy more than the yellow decreasing red states.

Everything else in the middle seems somewhat equal, but those on the extremes are seemingly very slanted towards decreasing blue states and increasing red states.

New Orleans is the elephant in the room. It’s the only city in America over 200,000 people that *costs* the state more money than it pays in tax revenue

This is unequivocally false, but I guess in this case adding quotation marks, hyphens or stars around a word makes it suddenly true.

Also there is a huge Hurricane Ida impact on the population numbers.

Texas primarily. After that probably Atlanta, Nashville, Charlotte would be my guess.

I would guess Florida comes before ATL, Charlotte, and Nashville
