The personal liberty argument is a joke. There are plenty of "personal liberties" that are infringed upon for the good of the general public.

Well of course. How else would you buy into it if it weren't for the good of the public?

I'm not sure what you're getting at.

Barry, the OT is an interesting place.
It is full of people who
1) Believe that the right to smoke wherever one pleases is an important tenet of liberty
2) Are 8 inches, flaccid
3) Run the 40 faster than Brandin Cooks
4) Think it's clever to write "baw" or call lesser men "betas"
5) Are 5 inches taller than the average American male
6) Despite being 5 inches taller than the American male, still manage to be lighter than average.
7) Got a 32 on the ACT
8) Despite getting a 32 on the ACT and running a 40 faster than Brandin Cooks, didn't go to college, perhaps because they didn't want to pay tuition (But what TOPS you say? Surely the 32 ACT would qualify for TOPS, right?)

But don't feel too bad for them. They are all making $250,000 as plant operators, working 35 hours a week.
ETA: It's also the only place I've ever seen people display open pride in getting the absolute shite beaten out of them by their crazy-arse parents, who would take 36 inch Louisville sluggers to their chins on a weekly basis, apparently.
Beautiful summation, sir!

Didn't they say like 2 years ago that they were going to do this?

Do you need to shite on public grass?
I mean, if it comes down to shitting on public grass or shitting in your pants, I hope you find a secluded public grass to take a shite rather than in your pants.
Good luck though. I know how that feels.

Shouldn't they ban smoke from charcoal also ? Because I'm guessing it's no less harmful than tobacco smoke.

What do needs have to do with personal liberty and freedom?
Maybe I like shitting in open air and marking my territory. Who are you to judge?

I'm not judging. Take a shite where you like.
You know... We really do need some hippies. I can't think of a time where hippies were needed more than right now.

I don't agree with banning the dip. I was talking about the smoking.

Dipping is super trashy
And majority of the people I've ever met that dipped was trashy

Our healthcare dollars goes towards the uninsured people.
That's why health care is so expensive. We're covering our care plus a little percentage of theirs.
Almost everyone is uninsured above a certain age. Above that age also happens to be when most of the health effects of smoking happen to crop up. The net effect of that plus the lower class, uninsured having dramatically higher smoking rates than the upper class and educated means that most of the healthcare cost of smoking is shouldered by John Q. Taxpayer.
Treating those that smoke or used to is the single greatest preventable pissing away of tax dollars in the history of taxation.
I'm not saying ban smoking--I'm saying I shouldn't have to pay for the healthcare of morons that kill themselves for the hell of it. Smoke all you want, wherever you want, so long as the property owner where you're doing it allows it--but when it bites you in the arse in your late 60s, I hope you saved up enough money for the tens of thousands of dollars in pulmonary treatments, surgery, chemotherapy, radiation, ICU course, etc., because if anyone with any sense was in charge or comes to be in charge, self-inflicted wounds will be self-burdening only.
