I enjoy living in Denham. You just have to tune out the rednecks in wal mart and all the fools flying rebel flags on their piece of shite trucks.

You must be in northern Central, I go to target on Millerville or Oak Point if I just came out of the gym.

So Asgard...you aren't going to believe me. But I'll share my route home today:
Main Street to North 9th. Right onto North 9th, continuing as it shifts to East, and continuing until it shifts to Thomas H Delpit.
Left onto Howard, right onto Braddock, onto Washington Street Ramp (I find I avoid the BS traffic on 110 like this).
From there, I take I-12 from there until the Juban ramp. I'm less than 3 miles from my house from there. Today, my commute home was...

sorry buddy, I was typing on my phone. If you go through woodland crossings or neighborhoods like it people don't give two shits about the appearance of their homes, yards, or property. It looks like Chalmette did pre katrina because most of the people living there are from there. The neighborhood I was in wasn't too bad but there are trailers adjacent to 250k homes. You have a beautiful neighborhood then right outside is a hoarder trailer thrash family. It sucks. And most of denham is like that. I challenge you to drive 15 minutes in either direction of denham/walker and tell me you didn't see a trailer.

And why is that such a bad thing???? They have a roof over there head and don't live under a bridge BEGGING people for money and can walk around without fear of getting killed like in most of B.R.

I love how everybody quantifies quality of life with the patrons of Wal-Mart!! Wal-Mart attracts the fuglies no matter where you go.
Re: the OP, I've lived in New Iberia, Laffy, Hammond, Ponchy, NOLA, Mandeville, Covington, Baton Rouge, and now Walker. Denham seems to be a little run down and maybe there will be some revitalization in the near future. In my opinion and for my families needs, Walker fits the bill.

Peej I grew up in BR until bussing started and my dad said f that and we moved to Denham. I had to adjust to the different environment.
I went through Freshwater elementary and denham junior high and went on to be a fullback for glen glass in HS.
I was also a linebacker and broke a couple of Bucky's ribs.

I prefer my houses without wheels (and front facing garages of course)

Lived in Watson all my life and probably the best location in LP. Prices are higher here but cleaner and not as much trash as Denham and Walker. Personally I don't know how anyone lives in Walker and smells the landfill everyday. It's like a blanket of stink hovering over the entire area. Dead serious.

Watson and Springfield aren't bad compared but Denham is thrashy as all hell. .
We just moved to Georgia and it's amazing how much cleaner it is. Also there are parks everywhere, educated people, and affordable really nice houses

I see your clock pic and raise you an actual video of I-12 at a complete standstill this morning all the way out to DS.

That's normal, but it's moving, even though it's congested
It's not like it's 15 miles of gridlock
I-10 is the same way in the morning

There was a 3 mile stretch where they were stop and go, probably averaging 5mph. That's ~36 minutes just to get through that part. Probably 20mph for another mile in each direction from there which is another 6 minutes. That's just to get to around airline. You know there was more traffic on I-10.
I seriously doubt these people are getting from their homes, to the Juban Rd or DS on-ramp, and through all that shite in less than 50 minutes.
If I leave earlier it looks like it flows pretty well. (Drove by at 7am and it looked good) This is more of a problem for the ~8-4:30 workers.
Every 10 minutes you add to your commute adds up to around 80 hours a year. My commute from Central is a consistent 35 minutes so I'm saving 80 hours a year (2 work weeks!) compared to a 45 minute commute.
