Slower pace of life than BR, but traffic can still suck badly during rush hours. Restaurant options are rather limited out here, as most places are chain joints, but we do have a nice Rouses. Overall cost of living has dropped quite a bit from living in BR, which was our main reason for leaving BR, though I do use a little more gas on my commute to work. I do enjoy having North Park just down the road though. I go hit golf balls on the range there every few weeks, and run on the track often. My advice would be to learn the alternate routes quickly, and do not jump on I-12 between 630 and 830 AM weekdays when schools are in session (LSU and local schools). Its a cluster frick to say the least. Luckily I work in Ascension Parish, so I can go 16 south through Port Vincent with ease. Just be prepared for the trash and meth heads you will see haha Walmart trips can be entertaining to say the least.

I live off of 1019 in Watson and I like it. That would be your best option. I feel sorry for places that don't have an oakpoint grocery

Ya'll say this.

Then follow up with this.

It's a good place to raise a family... most of the people here are typical middle class families.

That is confusing.

MrsWafer (no pics) and I lived there for 4 years and loved it. Super quiet neighborhood and lots more bang for our buck. It sucked being 30 min from just about everything we wanted to do and our friends in BR. She drove in to BR every day and absolutely hated it. I did it for a month and wanted to pull my face off.

We now live in BR and remedied the situation, but miss living in Denham sometimes.

I think it has something to do with the color of the trash.

And the fact that living above the poverty line is all it takes to be middle-class in LP. Well that and a few travel-ball rings.

Would you like to witness our early 2016 wedding, you may receive an invite too. I don't think I'm the problem that folks in BR should be concerned with

Lots of house for the $$, almost no crime, clean safe schools, shopping at Oak Point is always a pleasure and the traffic is fine. Great place to raise a family.

You must be from around here, or else you wouldn't have to ask.

I'd recommend Central unless you are white trash....then Livingston all the way.

Walker Walmart after 11 pm is like the fricking twilight zone

In high school wr used to drive 30 miles tp walker walmart just to experience that.

Why is EVERYTHING bigger in that store?

Only place ive seen super plus plus tampons. Were talking larger than a jumbo highlighter. If your vag is that open at rest, you need to just shut it down. It had a good run, but it is officially wore the frick out.

frick yeah. Do they still let people go in there and try the ridiculously hot hot sauces? I always get a kick out of watching grown men cry like little girls.

Last time I went in there some guy was in serious pain and was trying to leave. The guy working behind the counter kept telling him that it wasn't a good idea to drive in his condition.

Life in Denham is much better than life in BR. The amount of trash is Denham is much less than the trash in BR. The schools are better, the crime is less, and it is much quieter here. We live on River Road. We are very close to Downtown Denham and the High School. We love it here. I teach in EBR;it takes no time to drive to work...but I don't actually use the interstate and my hours are different (5:30-3:00). I-12 is actually not as bad as it once was. I-10 is actually much worse!
