Even if he pays millions to her family, I think he's still going to do some time.

Mojeaux, stop defending the fact you made a lamebrain stupid arse comment. Her sobriety had nothing do due with the wreck.
You defended it twice like you made some smart revelation when you really just sound like more of an idiot each time you reply.

Doesn't that seem low here?

Hold on. This dude kills his passenger while going crazy excessively fast while drunk... gets a $75k bond.

While that kid who was "manipulating his penis" out in front of his classmates gets a $550k+ bond.

what a corrupt system of justice we've allowed

Just saw his lawyer on WWL. She used the word "hisself". Twice.

That could work to his advantage at trial since she's speaking the local cultural dialect.

Meh. All our actions lead to consequences. Does't absolve him of any fault obviously. I didn't expressly or implicitly state that. But of course you know that. You just seem to enjoy acting indignant.

So if this guy hadn't had a drop but was still driving 118 MPH (allegedly) would that make him any less culpable.

I struggle with the extent to which what are, ultimately, accidents, should be charged criminally.

Going 118 MPH on a city street, or any roadway, isn't an accident. You have to do that on purpose.

That's not speculation, that's the vehicular homicide statute. If he is convicted he is doing at least 3 years in prison. Don't see any way the DA pleads down to where he doesn't see time considering the press coverage.

He is. And didn't one off the original articles say he "leased" the car? I wonder who the owner of the car was and whether or not it was one of those companies he was involved in with the doctor.

$75k bond seems rather low for this individual, no?
