Trying to plan a trip to Lake Tahoe for next year for a large bachelor party. Anyone have any experience with regards to when it typically warms up in Tahoe? It's with a fairly outdoorsy crew so was hoping to do some hiking and exploring (in between hookers and blow) and would prefer if we weren't all bundled up the whole time.

Would May be too early for it be decently warm? Also, if anyone has any experience with a large house (sleeping 15-20) in Lake Tahoe, would appreciate any sites or contact info ! Any general recommendations for the area as well are welcomed as none of us have ever been. TIA!

By the second week of may it will be getting warmer, like the 50-60s. For what you want to do you want to be in South Lake Tahoe.

I lived there back in the 90's.

May should be cool but still very nice. They sometimes get snow that late so be warned although it isn't likely.

You'll want to stay in South Lake near Stateline, NV. I'm sure there will be plenty of large houses for rent in Southlake via a google search. A word of caution, Be wary of bringing drugs into NV. They don't frick around and just about any amount can be a felony. Cali is much more hospitable but lack the casinos (although there are some fun bars).

Nero's at Caesars used to be the "happening" club but I'm sure much has changed since I've been back about 10 years ago.

I went several years back the third week in May. The mornings were in the upper 30's and mid 50's during the day.

Hmmm I'd imagine this would be a little cooler than we were looking. Thanks for the info!

Go in July or August if you want to actually get in the lake without freezing your arse off. Late May if you don't care about the water and just want warmer weather.

just returned.

went last year late July, this year late June -- still had snow on the mtns in June (had a late season dump) but everything was perfect. Stayed in Incline Village, NV -- great area.

partied down in South Tahoe -- South Tahoe/Stateline,NV is more like Biloxi -- lots of casinos, party area. North Tahoe is classier -- both equally beautiful. lots to do.

we went whitewater rafting in Truckee, did the Flume Trail on mountain bikes (first 4 miles were nuts, but it was so epic and worth it), rented boat for a few days - went wake boarding, skiing, tubing... stand up paddle boarded one morning, rented a boat with a captain one day to learn how to wake surf (so much fun) -- we had we suit tops -- 2mm/3mm is fine -- just to keep your chest warm. Lots of people don't use them, but if you're going on a boat and deep in the lake, it was totally worth it. Shallow water will be warmer (duh), but still cold!! It gets really hot during the day, and cool at night. bring a light jacket for the AM/PM --

tons to do, would move up there if I could! I actually enjoyed the snowcapped mountains this year -- we weren't able to do the Mt. Rose hike bc you needed snow/hiking boots for it this year, but we did the Flume Trial Bike ride instead and it was amazing.

Hit up the Lone Eagle Grill at the Hyatt in Incline Village -- Wednesday-Friday they have a singer named Luke there -- lots of fun. Great food/drinks/views of sunset. Bar is open seating (pretty large) -- restaurant, you'll want reservations --- worth it for a "nice" meal. We ate there every night.

Plenty of houses will sleep 15-20 people -- just look around AirBnb or VRBO --

People there are super friendly - don't be shy to ask for recommendations. You can rent boats/jet skis/kayaks/SPB/etc from Action Water Sports in Incline Village --- I'm sure there are tons more areas too --- Sand Harbor (I believe that's the name) is awesome - lots of people hanging out on the public beach.

Gar Woods is fantastic for lunch -- North Tahoe - California side.

If y'all are into party scene, maybe stay in South Tahoe, as there are plenty of casinos -- but they all are straight out of the 70s -- still nice!
