Wife and I met when she was a freshman in high school and I was a junior. We got to know each other pretty well over the years. We started dating her senior year, been together for 13 years total now, married for 7 of those.

fat/ugly chicks are the only exception to the rule, if chick knows your out of her league she'll accept friendship with you, and fwiw thats the only type of girls i've ever had friendships last with

We met at a bar on a thursday night and our first date was that saturday. We were official a month later but we'd gone on at least 3 dates before then. So, basically, we skipped the "just friends" stage. Still dating over 3 years later.

We've been knowing each other for quite a while. Had a fling probably 3-4 years ago, I wasn't ready to date, she was.

She dates someone else for basically the entire time after, I end up dating someone too, along with playing the field as much as I could.

We both ended up single again and are now together. No idea why she still had feelings for me after 3-4 years glad she did/does though

Friends as kids in middle schoolback home in NY. I moved to another state (Nashville, TN) my junior year of high school and we lost touch for over 10 years. At 28 we started being friends again through FB and she was now in Tampa, FL. 5 years later we are engaged and living together in Tampa.

Wife and I were co-workers and friends for about two years. We basically just hung out on breaks and talked about our SOs and music and movies and such.

We both became single within a month or two of each other and things just developed from there.

Been together for nine years and married for five.

When we met we were both seeing other people. We became friends, and began dating about a year and a half later.

It was a career decision. She actually wanted to move to Nashville and I wanted to move to Florida. Oppty presented itself to buy in to company she works for . It became a no brainer.

She was my boss before she was my SO

She hired me to work for her, and I got promoted to a different position. Once I wasn't working FOR her, we started dating.

All in all, we knew each other for about 9 months before we started dating.

Yep, because I was a pussy when I was 15.

Met my wife through a mutual friend when we were 15. Never had the balls to ask her out. We hung out as a group for a while, then her and my best friend started dating. They dated till we graduated high school. She would actually help me pick out birthday and christmas presents for my girlfriend. We were all planning to go to LSU together and my best friend and her mutually broke up "to experience college". My girlfriend was going to USM so we broke up. Couple weeks into our freshman year the wife and I started dating. Six years later we were married. My best friend stood in my wedding and I stood in his.

That was 10 years ago. Still happily married and still all great friends.

We were friends/neighbors ten years before we started dating. We hadn't seen each other for any of those ten years in between, but we had kept in touch now and then.

Breaking the friend zone is not impossible if you know what you're doing. I prefer to be with a girl who I can be friends with without anything sexual possibly making the friendship part less genuine.
