re: Sharing custody of child - NashBamaFan
You have it better than most fathers. Be thankful. Appreciate the fact that your ex isn't a more difficult. Most fathers (when everything is looked as being equal in the household and wat of life) get every other weekend and Wednesday evenings for a few hours. Sure they may also get a week or 2 in t...

re: Today I have watched four Mexicans form, pour and finish my new patio. - NashBamaFan
This is the issue. Not only is the money being sent/spent back in in Mexico , it's usually not getting taxed either. One reason I'd like to know more about how a flat tax would work in this country. ...

re: Any Vets on the OT? - NashBamaFan
No bites. No sores. Nothing like that. I'm hoping they are right with the tooth issue. He did have to have one pulled almost 2 years ago and it did cause him to struggle to eat but he never got lethargic like now. I mean....he doesn't even want to stand up or he can't. I had to carry him to the car...

re: Any Vets on the OT? - NashBamaFan
They are keeping him overnight. I'm ok with that ( besides being home now and the weird feeling of him not being here ). I'm picking him up at 7:30am. After trying to convince us to "put him down" 20 minutes after arriving we finally had them do the blood work and X-rays. They found nothing and act...

re: Going to Cozumel this weekend - NashBamaFan
Go somewhere else. Anywhere else. Just got back from there and it blows. You could do all the same shite without the smell and rundown buildings in FL. Well maybe not without the smell , but def FL or another destination state would be much better . ...

re: Any Vets on the OT? - NashBamaFan
Right! Craziest shite I ever heard. Hospice!?! frick you! That's what I wanted to say to him. 1000.00 for "hospice care". No thank you. Run some blood tests and do an X-ray. Then give him something that will assure he's comfortable over night and I'll bring him home. Currently waiting on results of bl...

re: Any Vets on the OT? - NashBamaFan
Nothing noticeably wrong with him. Face , nose , body , etc. are all normal. No loss of weight that is noticeable , and as I said earlier I can touch/push anywhere on his body and nothing seems to be hurting him. I don't have anything to go on but the fact that he had turned lethargic and isn't eati...

re: Any Vets on the OT? - NashBamaFan
That's what I'm questioning. And I don't know how it goes with a dog. But it baffles me that there could be NO problems at all and 6 days later it's " he's got cancer , probably best to put him down". That's not a good enough answer for me. ...

re: Any Vets on the OT? - NashBamaFan
Thanks. They even offered "hospice". For a dog!?!? No! I'll bring him home and bring him to his normal vet in the morning. Make sure he's comfortable for the night. Hospice?? That's got to be a money grab, right? ...

re: Any Vets on the OT? - NashBamaFan
No. He hasn't been any different at all till 6 days ago. At that time he stopped eating his daily meals (he would eat little , randomly) and started to just lay around all the time. That's not him. He wouldn't meet me at the door when I return from work or wherever , he would just lay there. Very la...

re: Any Vets on the OT? - NashBamaFan
That is what is infuriating to me is that we were not here 20 minutes and they started talking about putting him down because of his age, if that's common then, ok , I don't want him to suffer , I'll suffer , but if it's common for dogs to live longer and still be happy at the same time then I want ...

Right. That's my dilemma. I know just 6 days ago he was as happy as ever. That is what is not making sense to me right now. ...

re: Any Vets on the OT? - NashBamaFan
Forgive me for being naive but can dogs ( mutts ) live much longer than 12 - 14 yrs and be healthy and happy? I know some people will spend a fortune to keep a dog alive ( and today I finally understand that logic (a bit) ) but is just more or less pressuring the dog at the pint to stay alive. Obvio...

re: Any Vets on the OT? - NashBamaFan
That's exactly what they're telling us. Right now they're wanting to keep him overnight because they're saying he's to weak to really diagnose him right now although they just took him back for X-rays. ...

re: Any Vets on the OT? - NashBamaFan
You're right. I guess I'm looking for someone to tell me otherwise. If I noticed him suffering or thought in any way he was hurting , it would be much easier to to relieve him of his pain. I'm just struggling with the fact that 6 days ago he was great. No different than any other in the last 10 year...

Any Vets on the OT? - NashBamaFan
My dog , Blake , was just fine and his usual energetic self just 6 days ago. Here we are now at the Emergency Vet because he couldn't keep his eyes open and would not move , not even stand up. He 12 yrs old (adopted mutt , we've had him 10 years) but acts like a puppy. Nobody ever believes he is an ...
