sounds like they can do it, RFID chips cost pennies now a days. Think about it, you have bought products for years with simple rfid chips on them.
The person at the register deactivates the chip.
The ones the police would use would be more similar to toll tags, but even more similar to a petfinder RFID chip.
Police offiver scans, chip transmits ID number. Police software scans rfid number and knows if it is valid can probably also get vehicle info and owner info stored with tag data.
Hell this could be an easy way to find out where someone is going and where they have been.

We already have black boxes in all new cars.
The car's computer monitor's most of its functions including most of the stuff inspected for.
Would it be a big step to just do away with inspections and stickers altogether and just make it a fine to ignore a system malfunction for 30 or more days?
Your car would tattle on you at a checkpoint.

Man F -that.
I can keep my lights and wipers and horn going. But I do not want checkpoints based if your O2 sensor is going bad or you have a shorting MAF sensor.

This is the OT. OT ballers can't be told what to do, especially with their illegal tint!

.
Couldn't you just put all inspection sticker data into a statewide database and join it with a database of registered vehicles? It would be easy to produce a report that lists all registered vehicles who have not renewed their inspection stickers.
You don't know if the vehicles are active, but all you have to do is scan the plates as they drive by which is easy to do.

I'm surprised I haven't pulled over get for it, I got Tennessee plates and we Dont get inspected but I would've figured by now that an LA cop over the last five years wohldve pulled me over at least.
Alabama doesn't either and I had the hardest time explaining it to the morons working the checkpoints here that I don't need a LA sticker on a car that's registered in AL.

They were ON the interstate doing this shite? I've never seen that and I hope they get sued into oblivion by the first person that gets rear ended.

Pretty sure my O2 sensor has a problem and I really don't want to get it fixed.. where around denham/central do they not care?

To protect and serve. They served you with a ticket! At least the ones doing the real crimes aren't bothered.

Wife does not have one and mine expired 5/11.
There are state police at the off/on ramps at Causeway and Clearview all of the time. Avoid like the plague if the weather is nice. Same with the Earhart expressway exit to Clearview.
