No they weren't. They were charged with whether JV made the statement. The punch was not at issue. Just the statement.
Gotcha, so how in the world did they come up with a number like 1.8M? Does JV's lawyer suggest an amount, or does the judge or jury come up with that number?

Well that fricking sucks. I bought his book a few months ago but still haven't read it. Since it appears it's all bullshite, I probably won't now.
This is the first I've heard of him being full of shite. But after reading that bs Katrina story, there is no doubt he's full of it

The money is taken out of the estate that she has been left. It'd be a nice move on his part to say "I don't want your money, I just wanted to clear my name. I won the judgement, but that's all I wanted"
Would have been nice if the estate issued an apology saying that the incident never happened and removing the offending sections from any new books.
The estate could have cleared JV's name and avoided judgment, but they elected to continue.

Jury did here. His lawyer asked for 5-15 million

At this point, do we know if he was even a sniper at all?

That Katrina story was not only complete bullshite, but one of the craziest fricking outright lies I've ever read.
After seeing that, there's no way I'm believing a word that guy said about anything.

This is pretty ridiculous here to :

Police officers arrived at the scene. When they ran Kyle’s license, Mooney wrote, something unusual occurred: “Instead of his name, address, and date of birth, what came up was a phone number at the Department of Defense. At the other end of the line was someone who explained that the police were in the presence of one of the most skilled fighters in U.S. military history.”

The irony in all of this is the idea that Jesse Ventura pursued this lawsuit to clear his good name, but this suit will likely do more to damage his name than that book could have ever done.

his voice sounded like he was full of BS and trying to make sure he was telling the story like he had told it before.
+1
The 7/30 show of Opie and Jim is up on YouTube. I think most in this thread would be interested in listening to their discussion.

idk. If this thread is any indication, people will be quick to realize Kyle was a liar and clearly defamed Ventura.

In a just world, maybe.
However, as this thread has also demonstrated, sometimes those people will just defend until the evidence gets overwhelming. And then stop reading.
