This ain’t a movie baw. You’re not Clint Eastwood. There’s a direct threat inside your domicile. Grab that AR and protect what’s yours.

Probably wouldn’t take any over a pistol w a high count magazine. Springfield 9mm xdm I think is 21+1 or so.

Why are you not wanting to hit what you're aiming for?

You're not seeing anything with the shotgun and going to blow your ears out when you do shoot.

Y'all keep it pitch black in your house at night? I keep our bedroom pitch black but if he's already in there I'd already be screwed.

Otherwise I'd easily be able to see him in common areas of the house

I'm going with 2. I'm much better on an AR than I am with any shotgun so that's my choice. Yeah, I'm aware of possible overpenetration but I'm most concerned with eliminating the threat and I have my best chance with that AR.

If shotguns were so great then Seal Team Six would have invaded the Bin Laden compound is itch them. Instead they used AR style rifles.

Your average homeowner isn't a Navy Seal and facing an unknown number of assailants in a huge compound where you might have 50 yard shots.

This would be in close quarters with a person that's groggy, probably scared. I think a shotgun would be better for most people in that situation

If my life may be at risk I’m gonna have zero concern for the severity of outcome for the intruder. They gave up any mercy when they decided to break into my house.

The AR gives them 30 chances to get it right.

Haven’t residents gotten in trouble for unnecessarily using lethal means for intruders?

3. Without hesitation.

Then 2, then 1.

If someone breaks into my house, I'm not going to chance being nice and letting them take my weapon from me. I'm shooting the instant I see him/her.

Not that I’m aware of and certainly not in any state I’d live in.

I’m almost positive. Especially if you shoot someone facing away from you.
