Now that I'm thinking about it the suppressor is a nice touch, ground check the bad guys without even waking the kids up.

I'm going number 2 since it's likely I've been woken up from a dead sleep. It's got a light, a holo red dot, and what looks to be a PEQ. Also has a suppressor which will somewhat save your ears shooting indoors with no ear pro.
You're not seeing anything with the shotgun and going to blow your ears out when you do shoot.

For most people the answer should be 2. Low recoil, easy operation, high number of rounds.
3 is a pump. That’s terrible because most people are going to miss. People think that a shotgun is some super spread weapon and it’s not -especially in close quarters. Then they have to pump and get back on target - while they are likely in a panic.

3. I am a shotgun guy and plenty experienced. Although mine is going to be either a Beretta 1301 Tactical, a Benelli M4 &or a Benelli M3.

If we're being honest, I'd probably initially choose the lamp on the bedside table. When I wake up enough to understand that I am no longer fighting a troll at the Walmart Neighborhood Market I would pick number three.

Odds are it’s dark and I’m just been awakened by an intruder who is probably no more than 10-15 feet away at best. My best bet at getting a killing shot is with the street howitzer.

The answer is 2. The AR rifle is the most capable and versatile shoulder fired weapon platform ever invented. It’s even easier to use that the shotgun. If shotguns were so great then Seal Team Six would have invaded the Bin Laden compound is itch them. Instead they used AR style rifles.

Let's not get carried away. There are plenty of rifles I'd choose over the AR. It's just the best option of the 3 listed.
