I dont think its a "disorder" necessarily, and if they aaid no more meds for it, you wouldnt see me crying about it, but

Its more for lazy parents

Isn't a blanket statement that is true. My dad is a lazy parent , but my mom tried A LOT before turning to meds. I rememeber being punished down to only a bed and a desk in my room until I got my grades up. I had designated study time. She'd meet with teachers. Took me out of sports temporarily to focus on school. Went to the psychologist for months before turning to meds. She didnt just say screw it, he needs some pills.

I consider myself to be pretty succesful, so this can'tbe used as a blanket statement either.

For way to many, your above statements are correct. But for some, its legitimately needed to reach close to their max potential. And that makes it at least a somewhat legitimate condition for some people.

Man who created ADHD says he made it up. Deathbed confession.
There is no questioning the accomplishments of Dr. Eisenberg, but it's patently false to say that he is the "father" of ADHD and/or created the diagnosis.

ADD is a hoax
ADHD is over-diagnosed, but a real condition
both are used to enrich psychiatrists, pharmaceutical companies, and for getting welfare benefits.
ADD is not even an official diagnostic term; it's only ADHD with multiple subtypes, including "predominately inattentive."

In other words, you shouldn't speak confidently about something you know very little about.

The fact that so many in this thread claim to have it, or claim their children have it, tells me it's not a real "disorder". The fact that those same people say that other people exaggerate their condition or that the disorder is overdiagnosed only reinforces my conclusion.
About 40% of individuals will be diagnosed with cancer in their lifetime, which is far higher than ADHD. Is cancer not a real disease too?
