Thank you for your unsolicited advice. And here I thought cokes were good for me. I will continue drinking what I damn well please.

You win Glass. Beer and wine do not have calories. Stopping them would have had no effect on your weight loss.

I never said that. I really think that soft drinks frick up the metabolism of most people. Alcohol is empty calories for sure, but much better empty calories than soft drinks. That is my point.

Ounce for ounce, alochol is worse. 12 oz of coke is not as bad as 12 oz of wild turkey

You can have your coke when you're mixing it with whiskey, but not 10 cokes a day

But what if I drink 10 whiskeys a day?

Most people drink more than one soft drink a day. As with anything moderation is the key. I'm not moderate in my alcohol content, just know from my own experience that soft drinks, even diet ones are just bad for me.

FYI....coffee and tea are actually pretty good for if you don't load them with cream and sugar. Antioxidants brah.

I agree 100%. I thought you were making a 1:1 ratio. Bc I know if I give up coke and the 1 or 2 I drink a month, its not nearly a health benefit if I give up the fif of whiskey (or more) I drink a week

Well yes, but if you are drinking 10 12oz cans of alcohol a day you have much worse problems

Honestly, the only reason alcohol was in the OP was to show that I am not talking about making some crazy life change or giving up a ton of things you love to drink...
I feel like most people who guzzle soda just do it out of habit and could probably switch to something better without too much trouble and instantly be healthier.

Nobody is arguing that alcohol is healthier than soda on a 1:1 ratio

That statement is much better presented than your OP. You still sound like a prentenious arse. Most people know these things. I might start a thread saying, Chocolate cake is not healthy.

Hey I realize those aren't good for you. But having one coffee a day, and beers when you go out with friends is still WAY healthier than drinking soft drinks all day

I know many more people that are closer to drinking beer and/or coffee all day than soft drinks. So your justification for your beer/coffee/gin addiction is retarded.

Soft drinks are about moderation just like anything else

Well that's bullshite. I think I remember reading somewhere that it's almost equally as hard to stop drinking soft drinks as it is to quit smoking.
