Thanks to everyone that gave genuine advice and didn't ridicule or laugh at me. I do have a tendency to over think things these days instead of just going with the flow, but what went down in that gas station last night was something I've never experienced before. Anyway, I texted her ab 20 min ago and invited her to go fly fishing with me this weekend and she accepted. I know that sounds weird but I think it will be a good time. I will def show restraint if she attempts to have sex with me on this trip. Thanks again for the tough love and words of wisdom guys, I hope this one is THE one.

Wait this chick agreed to go fishing with a stranger (read:alone on a boat where screams can't be heard) for the weekend after texting for a day and meeting him at the gas station?

Sounds like you caught a smart one.....

Ok. That's weird. I wouldn't go a weekend trip to a camp with a guy I just met at chevron at a ridiculous time for anyone to be out on a weekday

sure you could if you handled it right. in this case they met at 3am at a gas station. If you knew she is going to be up for work, then text her casually like she is already one of your friends. "I got no sleep, this really sucks!!"...and just kind of go from there. If it gets stale, tell her you have to go get some work done, "oh and Btw, do you want to do something this weekend?"

There is a pretty big difference between a text and call.

Regardless, I don't think I would ever text a girl at 8AM, five hours after meeting her.

That's a pretty early call/text in general.

Most adults are thinking about eating some breakfast, getting to work, etc. at that time - not texting some random person he/she met a few hours earlier. I don't mean to be harsh, it just sort of reeks of desperation. Why not just wait a few extra hours? Why not wait a day? Not like the connection will dissipate in that time.

Edit: Sounds like it worked for the OP either way. My post was more about my line of thinking. If you think it works, go for it.

I'm taking bets. Odds will be figured out later.

Sampson gets robbed
Girl never shows
Girl had STD that limits her choices
Girl is unattractive to the point her choices are limited

I would include batshit crazy but that is too broad a term since they are all bat shite crazy on some level.

I'd be suprised if this girl doesn't bail on him.

See that's the thing. Everything that has been said since we first spoke has been not the norm. I said things I wouldn't have normally said in line at chevron at 3am but it just felt right for some reason. Same with this fly fishing idea. She loved it and after suggesting it I thought "wtf did I just say?" But I'm done questioning and 2nd guessing myself. I'm just going to keep going with this.

I just imagined some schmoe dressed up in dorky fly fishing gear waiting by the road from early dark til light constantly checking his phone.

I'm avoiding it. That's going to be a difficult conversation and I want to just focus on the present and future right now. She knows we can still be friends.

So it's just the 2 of you on an overnight trip with this broad that you just met at the gas station for a few minutes at 3 a.m.? She seems pretty trusting.

True but she said she doesn't normally do this so she must be feeling the same way I am.
