How is life in Koreatown going for you?

haha I actually really enjoy living in Koreatown. Lots of great food, relatively cheap rent (for LA), and good late night coffee (which I need as a grad student).

The helicopters looking for criminals at 2 in the morning also provide some late-night entertainment.

houston is barely 100 years old. All the others have 100+ years of being established. I'm not saying houston is perfect, or better than any other city. I'm saying they've come a lot further in their first 100 years than all the others, and seem to be on a meteoric rise in economy and population

You can't compare the development pace of the 1700s or 1800s to today. Plus, cities like L.A. were just tiny missions back then anyway. This is all a pointless debate. Being a huge city doesn't mean anything anyway. Case in point: Beijing.

Yeah, but that is Galveston, where the beach is a lot like those in Mississippi

The beaches in the Landmass are much better than Galvatraz.

Houstons weather is fine IMO.

It is kinda an ugly city with frickloads of traffic though. Concrete and crowded with tons of sprawl and nothing really scenic or pretty.

That's my take. I lived there for 2 years before deciding I liked south florida better and gave up a bit on money in both salary and cost of living to be where I enjoyed more.

Nothing wrong with Houston though. I thought it was an alright place to live and has a great job market.

No, just got back from NYC. There's a reason why it's the largest city in the US. It's incredible

Los Angeles weather is incredible. I'm here in late August and it's consistently low 70s with no hint of precipitation.

If Denver had the oil and port that Houston has it would be much bigger. If Alaska had the same weather and beaches that Hawaii had, it would be da bomb!!
