re: Things to do in Asheville NC - Dead Mike
I thought it was a neat downtown area, maybe I'm easily impressed. I'll agree though that the real outstanding gems are the breweries and the nearby outdoors activities. ...

re: Credit Card Rewards and Points Discussion - Dead Mike
$300 limit? That's awfully low if you're well off financially as you say.
Capital One is relatively stingy and it would be possible for him to have no credit experience while still spending and saving frugally....

re: Planning a trip to Asheville next May - Dead Mike
If you're interested in a motel, Downtown Inn and Suites is pretty no frills but in a really convenient location and for a reasonable price. I saw it recommended on here before considering it, and it worked out well. As for hiking, there are a ton of options; we liked Catawba Falls in Pisgah....

re: Best Gose Available in South Louisiana? - Dead Mike
I haven't seen it mentioned yet, but you can probably find Destihl Wild Sour Series Here Gose Nothing around somewhere. I've seen it at multiple Whole Foods and multiple Rouses. That was the first sour beer I ever tried. They make a Flanders Red and a Berliner Weisse in the same series (and a couple...

re: Montreal - where to eat? - Dead Mike
It's not, but I'm merely pointing that there are fantastic restaurants in Quebec City for those interested in visiting. I would highly advise a six hour round trip (if you have an extra day) to visit one of the most unique cities in North America. The few times I've flown into Montreal, I've ...

re: recommendation: everydollar, mint, ynab or something else? - Dead Mike
I use Mint and rarely have any issues. I check it maybe once a week and check for things to be categorized correctly, but in general it does exactly what I want it to do. For month-to-month, year-to-year tracking I use a custom Excel spreadsheet and input my budget numbers from Mint for spending. ...

re: Would You Say That Maineri Wins Mostly on Talent and Passion Rather Than Coaching Acumen? - Dead Mike
. The only manager at the CWS that I think Maineri did better than was FSU's.
If Mainieri had us in Oregon State's position and dropped two games to a team we blew out by 10 runs, by holding out our 1st round pick starter, they'd be throwing rocks at him as he stepped off the plan...
