re: City of Youngsville bans coach and team after fight breaks out at youth softball - Dead Mike
Are you from Judice? I had the exact same situation. In fact, their coach got thrown out of the Judice gym and threatened to beat me and another teammate with a bat in the parking lot.
Jeez, when did this happen? I remember some SWA-Brown Park dramatics, but not out at Judice and ...

re: Checking Account Hold: How long is too long? - Dead Mike
The cashier's check was more than my available balance, but the additional hold on the paycheck really irked me. They released 1/3 the next day, another 1/3 3 days later, and will release the other 1/3 tomorrow night after a full 7 days. This is unusual.
This doesn't make sense. ...

re: Washington Post Article - Making the poor prove they're worthy. - Dead Mike

re: Ever called 911? - Dead Mike
I can't even imagine the job of an Emt. Showing up at only emergency situations. I'm glad there are people who feel called to those positions bc I could not do it.
It's a crapshoot as to whether a 911 call is a bonafide emergency situation. ...

re: Went to Omi for first time this past weekend - Dead Mike
I really like Omi, and it is always dead when I go there on weekend nights. Love their Kung Pao chicken, I tried their cumin chicken last time and it was good as well. The Double Bubble with the check was a little odd....

re: Anything Worth Eating in Hammond? - Dead Mike
Tommy's Pizza is pretty solid, the food at Mariners Inn was decent. I think I enjoyed my food at Berry Patch Cafe, but had a weird experience where a server criticized an on-the-menu order for being too complicated. I actually really like Thai Green Leaf on South Morrison....

re: Why are there no banks open past 5 - Dead Mike
I use ATM to take money out but I feel uncomfortable depositing money. I feel like something will go wrong. Guess I'm paranoid but I like handing my deposits to a person who is punching the numbers into the computer
That teller makes mistakes as well, and depending on the kind of b...

re: Circling sharks: Question for bank people - Dead Mike
Thanks for the information. I typically avoid banks, at least ones in this country. However, should I ever deposit another check of any size into a U.S. bank, I'll bring with me a baseball bat or some mace or something to fend off the "relationship bankers."
A simple "No thanks, I'...

re: Is the Wallgreens at Govt/Acadian the worst pharmacy in America? - Dead Mike
The Govt/Acadian Walgreens pharmacy is a pretty poor experience. I was waiting for a flu shot there, and I got to listen to a bunch of pissed off customers sitting around bitching about how long it was taking for their scripts to get filled. ...

re: Chavis's departure will end up being a blessing - Dead Mike
Yards Per Game and Points Per Game are popular stats to use, but they're by definition a product of the number of snaps and number of drives a defense faces per game. Miles's fundamental approach to football is to shorten games as much as possible, and this is easily seen in "Total" stati...

re: Chavis's departure will end up being a blessing - Dead Mike
All of those nice stats really don't mean a thing. You are not a "great" defensive coordinator if you average 3 losses per year during your 6 tenure (18 losses) and lose 4 of 6 bowl games. Considering this past season's putrid offensive output, I'd normally agree with you & let Chavis...
