I mean it's going to be sensationalism reporting at its finest but every person on that island is probably like "oh yeah there are volcanoes here".

When you think you’ve heard everything after riding out a couple of hurricanes and other shite. Damn weird sounding.

Like Hawaii, Iceland was formed via volcanic activity. It straddles 2 plates as the fault between runs pretty much in the middle of the island.

Everyone in Iceland is well aware they live on top of multiple volcanoes.

So does anyone know if this will be their "big one"? Like a VEI 4 or higher? Last one was 2010 and seems to be close to this area with the quakes.

Iceland last names are absurdly straightforward.

Not a BIG one, but potentially could cause some major catastrophic damage.

X link

75% chance of an eruption in the next 2 weeks. VEI 0 most likely, but VEI 1-2 at most.

Iceland is on the rift side of the tectonic plates. That tends to produce milder quakes and volcanos.
