I support legalization, I just don't care enough about the potheads to advocate for their hobby.
It'll get here when it gets here.

I think people blindly say "oh LA is such a red state it will never happen."
But people forget how lax we are on alcohol. I know it's not the same thing, but this state is more likely to accept it than you'd be led to believe. Hell we were the last state to change the drinking age to 18.
I don't see any reason why within the next 5-10 years it's at least "medically" allowed in almost all states

^ That's a suspiciously pot headed thing to say.

sorry you don't care about extra revenue for your state

The money it would generate is a positive point to bring up when speaking with those against legalization of some sort. The bottom line is, funds generated be damned, it should be legalized.
It should be treated equally to alcohol. Plain and simple.

Texas won't even legalize gambling much less pot.

Why are you sorry for that?

There wont be a positive effect. I just got back from a meeting where we are terminating people in Colorado for testing positive. Great thing is pot heads are the easiest one to catch

Do you feel this way or are you referring to the perception by some? Why shouldn't they be treated the same?

so smoking legal weed at home at nights is different from a drink or two at home at night how?
companies are free to do what they want, that shouldn't inhibit legalization.

To me that is the issue. How would employers test to see whether or not an employee is currently under the influence of marijuana considering it stays in your system for a varying period of time?

I was thinking a decade, but like you point out....states are looking for forms of revenue. This economy could accelerate the process.

If you think Mississippi will legalize weed in any of our lifetimes, you're insane.

This.
My company doesn't allow me to smoke weed. Even if I lived in Colorado I still couldn't smoke weed. I have to choose between my career and smoking weed, I choose my career. That doesn't mean people shouldn't be given the right to do so if they choose to.

The active metabolizes are different from the metabolizes used to detect smoking in previous days/weeks/months.

Not that I'm against legalization but you can have a drink or to at home and not really feel the effects. I'm not so sure you can take a toke and not catch a nice buzz. But that's about all I got.

A person smoking weed on their own tmie is a terrible reason to fire them. I know that doesn't change the fact that those are company rules, but weed doesn't make a competent person a bad worker. As long as they're not smoking on the job of course.

Colorado has tests to determine levels in cases like driving under the influence.
