Call the cops, you've done your neighborly duty of asking several times now drop the hammer

Where there's salsa music, there's usually some nice looking senoritas shaking some arse. Have you checked out the scenery at this neighbor's parties?

Depends on what age bracket we are talking. They tend to balloon up past age 25.

When I was at LSU, my democrat neighbors used to throw parties and blare their music. After multiple failed attempts to get them to turn it down. I learned which breaker was theirs outside the building. It really only drove me nuts when trying to study. I would leave my apartment, cut the power to theirs and head to the library. When I was finished studying, I'd return and flip their power back on if it wasn't already. By that time all their homies had left.

Not quite. People aren't all sterile robots. I don't mind neighbors cutting loose on their own property once in a while, that's what people do. Hopefully all nosy neighbors live in the same neighborhood and complain about each other.

While I'm sure the time of day is relevant to disturbing the peace issues in most jurisdictions, it doesn't give free reign to be as loud as you want, especially if we're talking about long periods of time happening consistently.

Agreed. I don't care what time of day we're talking about...I shouldn't be disturbed inside my house by somebody's loud music. My wife likes to take a nap on Saturday afternoons. Hard to do when every Saturday you have a concert in your house.

So the neighborhood should shut down for your wife's nap.

What a shitty attitude. The thread is about constant noise pollution, not "once in a while," yet you disparage those who object to the inability to enjoy their property. FOAD.

Yep, that's exactly what the assholes you're defending are doing, which makes you an a-hole by the transitive property.

You sound like the type that can only be dealt with through the legal system.

That sounds hugely excessive, and you're very accommodating. Perhaps everyone in the vicinity should exert their privilege, and there will be an arms race to see who can be the loudest.

they are daytime parties so not a whole lot to complain about if someone is having a good time on a nice saturday afternoon. Plus its not like a college kid party, just big family gatherings.

Everyone else's life doesn't revolve around your child.

I'm a huge believer in this... Hell I hate when parent's feel the need to bring screaming not ready for public children to restaurants where I'm trying to enjoy a night at the bar...I HATE when I have LSU or any other tickets and I have to deal with someone else's kid screaming for no reason or running up and down the aisle.....but this is different. His neighbor can enjoy his music without having it disturb this guys house. Even if there were no kid involved this would still be a dick move. The world shouldn't revolve around other people's kids... but the world also shouldn't have to listen to YOUR music.

I guess to answer the original question though I would give him one last chance. Say I've asked you nicely, if this keeps going I'm going to have to call the cops.
