How to deal with a neighbor that plays real loud music?

I have a neighbor who plays his music incredibly loud to the point I can hear the actual lyrics. The bass comes right through the walls to the interior of the house as well. It's not rap or ghetto, just very annoying.

We're not in a subdivision so there's no HOA to save me.

I've asked the douchebag multiple times to turn it down and he usually does but only after 30 minutes after asking him.

I don't want to be the neighbor that calls the cops on another neighbor but my 2 year old has trouble napping when it happens and his mom and I just can't enjoy peace and quiet when it happens.

I need OT-esque ways to send the message that I'm fed up without meeting him at Sonic or calling the cops. I want to try a few more things before it escalates to getting the police involved.

TIA

I'm pretty sure he's on drugs and is an alcoholic. I'm actually hoping he just ODs one day.

You have been polite and asked him to turn it down. You have a 2 year old that needs to sleep. Time to call the cops.

Go join him and drink a few beers and dance with the crowd.

That could end up causing more trouble than anything. But then again, if it is his last option I guess he doesn't have a choice..

Put the wheels back on your house and move somewhere better.

Wait about 3 minutes for him to start another thread about his neighbor who complains about the music he plays. Then, ask him to turn it down.

I have a solid music player but only use it when I tailgate really. My neighbor also jams shite, when they do or if I get tired of it I'll turn mine on, which is a billion times louder/clear than their shitty beats pill until they turn it off.

He continues to do it time after time as if he doesn't already know how disturbing it is

Everyone else's life doesn't revolve around your child.

He turns it down when you ask him to.

What's the problem?
