I'm a Sheriff's Deputy in another state, haven't read his P&P paperwork and the young lady is the sister of the offender. My question was how to instruct the young lady since her brother(offender) wants to see his sister. I know what I would do here in my jurisdiction but not familiar with how to advise that far away.

Then why are you coming here for advice on this subject? If you're a deputy, talk to your supervisor and get advice that will stand up in court. Not here.

If this if for real I would strongly consider asking the admins to delete this thread.

Hopefully somebody you work with sees your dumbass asking a bunch of random citizen strangers for advice on something that you should probably know how to handle

The young lady and her daughter(6 yrs old) live with the young lady's mother. The brother, who just got out on parole for child molestation now wants to move home with mom. Here's the catch...the 6 yr old is believed to be the child who got molested. Now, the young lady, who still loves her mother, is being forced out to make room for the child molester. How to advise?

That's one hell of a catch. I can't believe a real deputy would seriously ask this on a public forum.

And he still was convicted? This doesn't make sense.

You have to admit, this makes it sound like he just wanted to meet up for a coffee or something and doesn't tell us anything about him wanting to move in with her.

Sentrius if I remember correctly is a cop as well, and he does make a good point.

I agree my OP was short but usually all you get is tl/dr. I tried to hit the main points but apparently it wasn't enough.

I'm not a cop.

I'm just noticing some inconsistencies in the OP's story and some things aren't adding up. So I'm just taking this story with a grain of salt.

Not for something as serious as a child molestor.

In that case, I wasn't present for the trial. The young lady is VERY protective(as I would be) of the little girl. When the crime occurred, the young lady nearly lost it. The reason I say the young lady won't say it is because I believe she is trying to block it out.

Yeah if grandma permits him to move in then I would tell her to move out. If she's having financial problems maybe you could help get her in touch with some govt assistance programs to make sure she and the daughter can make it on their own.

That's where my conflict is....I'm advising someone to keep a girl away from her grandma because a POS is wrecking things for her.

You can't rehabilitate child molesters. Do everything you can to keep any child away. The judicial system thinks a couple months perhaps a few years will change the molester. It doesn't happen. That's when you go vigilante.

If you're willing to go to prison and sacrifice a lot of years of your life and take yourself away from your family for a long time and risk something happening to them without you there, by all means go ahead.

I completely agree...only problem here is Grandma seems to be an enabler. To me that's just as bad.

I wasn't trying to be literal, it was hyperbole.

If YOU believe wanting to touch, penetrate little boys and little girls is somehow correctable, then I disagree wholeheartedly.
