Kenna Brah

Fifteen years ago people at LSU would say people from Kenner look like Metaire people but act and talk like Chalmations. I still find this to be true.

I was hoping for a link to a website that would tell me how southern mine is.

It's bad when I think people who live in Birmingham and Atlanta sound like Yankees

Even Chateau? I have known a bunch of people who lived there and didn't have much of an accent (except people from other countries)

Can't stand when someone says they have no accent.. To someone else you have an accent.. Even if it's not specific to a certain region.. You still have an accent say to someone from outside the states etc..

I get told by others when traveling to other parts of the country that I have no accent.

lol wut. Who the frick asked it you were from South Africa? Those accents don't sound anything alike

See above, I've been asked the same about Australia. If you pronounce your A's very broadly, it can sound like you're from Oz, or apparently, SA.

I have been told by multiple people that people from our city generally don't have an accent. Of course that all depends where your family is from. You're not gonna get rid of a St Landry/da parish/yat/gump accent in one generation

I am from West Monroe and now live in the Richmond, VA area which is where my wife is from. She thinks I sound like a hick and yes I do. This cracked me up...our first trip to NOLA, she started laughing at how the people talked and said they sound like they are from New York City...LMAO! I yall do...

I'm not sure how bad mine is. I used to work customer service and was told all the time that I sounded like Matthew McConaughey.

My accent is hard to pin down, being from Biloxi. It's a wierd mix of Yat, semi-country, Brooklynese, and Cajun. Went on a camping trip as a teenager with a bunch of kids from Westwego and they even had trouble understanding me.

Depends on where I am. In the military. At work people would say I have a fairly distinct accent. Go home to Baton Rouge and they say I have no accent at all.
