mine is a mixture of central appalachian and south acadian, so i sound crazy whenever i've been drinking

grew up in Southwest VA, been living in south LA for a good while. The weird drunk accent struggle is real.

I'm not sure how bad mine is. I used to work customer service and was told all the time that I sounded like Matthew McConaughey.

When I lived in Dallas people did not believe that I was from New Orleans as they did not hear the accent. If they were around when I was drinking, certain words gave me away.
Since living in Jersey I get the same thing, but when I say y'all etc it gives it away. My sister on the other hand has a think New Orleans accent. We were at Brubachers and she asked for a Barqs and they brought a go box.

After 25 years up North, not so much. But a week back in LA and its like riding a bike. You just never loose it completely. When I return home, people tell me I sound like a coonass.

To someone from the Midwest it probably is but when I lived in South Alabama and was working out in the country, someone asked me where I was from.Said I didn't sound like I was from around there.

Been asked if I was from Boston by Bostonites before. I grew up south of BR on the river.

Lived in Louisiana my entire life.

I have been told on several occasions that I have a neutral accent. My word choice will expose me occasionally. I will also throw some twang on a word unexpectedly and wonder where the hell it came from.

I don't think I have much of a cajun accent but everytime I talk to new people I meet in Waco they immediately mention it.

I didn't think it was thick until I heard myself on the radio last year. I sound like a retard apparently.

Pretty thick. I've never tried to mask it, but I'm not sure that I really could without sounding ridiculous.

I used to think I didn't have one until I was first interviewed by the news.

I was so taken aback by it I was a little embarrassed.

Don't have a strong southern accent at all. Never have. I think that is usually the case for most people originally from Baton Rouge. When I first moved away it was the thing commented most from people when they found out I was from LA "But you don't really have a southern accent"

Pretty thick NWLA neck accent

Last year I was at a diner in NYC, the waitress was a czech lady, she said "you must be from Texas".

I can also change it from a 0 to a 10 without sounding unnatural. And yes, I do cut out the yalls if I'm at a client out west or up north.

Making a mistake there. Those people love Louisiana accents
