why did you replace your last one?

replaced the element in the dry twice. Washer performance kind of deteriorated over time

About 3 years or so. I can't remember exactly when I renovated, but it was around the time my son was born when we finished up the bathroom and we had completed the laundry area a few months earlier. Front loaders on both. The others were still working fine, but were in the basement. I sold them as a pair to some guy who had a son moving off to college.

Depends on how much the repair bills are.

Fisher & Paykel purchased 6 years ago. No problems with either.

Probably get a Speed Queen washer when my current one bites the dust.

About 15 and I've replaced parts on both within the last 3 years. Didn't notice much change with the washer after fixing it but the dryer runs like a champ now.

My Grandma has the same dryer that she's had my entire life and I'm in my mid-30's.

I tried to get her a new washer/dryer set, a nice front loading matching set... She wouldn't have it. Old people like using old shite because it's their old shite. They say to hell with upgrades and better technology.

I do have to agree that the older appliances sure seem to be built better.

Yep, and I'm not an appliance expert. They are nowhere what they used to be, and the repair guys tell me the same thing.

Almost three years old.... Had to replace because of a fire... Along with everything else... Still haunts me that I lost some things I will never be able to replace......
