My washer was from 1985 and went out about a year ago. had to switch one of these fancy ones with locks... no issues yet...
my dryer is also from the 80s... still going strong.

About five years. Replaced old ones because the washer was a front loader and made my clothes musty. And it finally quit working.

About 10. Both are GE. Dryer has a knock but otherwise still in good shape.

Less than a year old. We own Maytag Maxima W/D. Had initially chosen Speed Queen W/D, however due to configuration of our laundry room, washer would not work due to hinge placement on door.

Washer is 12 years old (the timer was going out on the old one and I decided to go with a front loader.
Dryer is 5 years old...motor on the old one died and I opted for one with larger capacity.
Both are Kenmore and are pretty much bullet-proof.

22 years, old Kenmoores. They were my parents from right after I was born, ive had them fixed a handful of times and the repair guys always said to never get rid of them

The old ones wouldn't send a text message or tweet to my wife when the clothes were through washing or drying and she had to go check on them. That had to be remedied.

Kenmore Washer and dryer... they are probably... 15 years old? Still work great. No need to change them.
