This number can vary widely. I would guess an average (meaning a non country do it yourself style wedding) is around $35k these days

About $3K. Married in 1998. Paid for it ourselves. Wife paid like $300 for her dress, flowers, church, etc.

We had our wedding at 2pm, so no meal, but we had snacks, and desserts along with cake.

Absolutely. In laws said they would pay for a destination wedding and gives us the 50K or we could have the 50K wedding. My wife chose poorly.

Someone else paid for the wife's dress.

Ring(s) for her was 8000.

Wedding all in, I think, was 15,000. There was add ons and shite here and there. 2014. I paid.

Still married, but it's a joke how much people spend on this shite. I think we had 120 people. Don't get me wrong, it was fun as frick and our friends still talk about how much fun they had.

I'd rather have gotten married somewhere and then had a big party. I'm a tightwad though. Seems like everyday I was pulling out the checkbook to get something else.

$3500 on the honeymoon too. Man, frick

Yeah, my honeymoon cost more than my wedding, and I'm good with that.

People will spend $20k - $50k on flowers alone for upper middle class weddings in some cases.
