I do and word is it's possibly about to get worse. Several majors are rumored to be making "massive" layoffs soon. I guess we'll see what that entails. Since January 1st, there has not been a lot going on for sure. I'm hearing of companies possibly clearing out 25%-50% of employees soon. That's going to hurt a lot of people.

I keep hearing the same rumor regarding one major in particular. The rumor entails them laying off 50% of North America employees

Rumor hell. It's real. BP is getting rid of ~8k jobs. Phillips, Chevron, Shell-all cutting more than just some fat.

Service companies are eviscerating themselves.

If you're in the industry(I am), I hope you're midstream and downstream(I am). Upstream....Godspeed.

I drive an 08 GMC with 120,000 miles on it, no stickers, never owned a yeti, no truck nuts. Yes I'm worried.

My wife works in imaging at a Healthcare facility, in the same time period as last year they are down 75 procedures, where as in the last 5 years they have grown a min of 5% each year. It's affecting them too.

I don't, but I have family and friends that do work in O&G. Only one has been affected, but he still has a job.

Same with my wife, her department does preventive procedures and they are slower than ever. No job = no insurance = only go to dr for emergencies

I was in an oilfield tools manufacturing facility until last Friday. In a way I'm relieved it happened. The threat had been there since early 2015.

Hang in there but have an exit strategy.

Oil field engineer guy here. My company (upstream producer) is officially spiraling out of control. I'm losing any money saved in the company stock plan due to the stock price approaching zero. Just laid off 8% of the company this week (in addition to layoffs in October). It sucked hearing about cool people I knew getting let go, and it was fricking nerve racking as I waited and expected HR to call me.

The good news is i still have a job
