If you survived living in Oklahoma, anywhere else you move to will be an upgrade.

been years since

bloomington minn, right down the way from the stadium

stayed with a so-called friend there for a while, workin in his pizzeria

it was very clean, told to steer clear of the indians/natives [ in bars ]

in the winter, it's colder than a witches left tit in a brass brassiere

pretty nice folk from what I can recall

I was born and raised in Minneapolis before moving to Louisiana after high school. I now live in the city again and I can tell you that it is overall a great place to live. I much prefer the people of Louisiana...much more fun with much more culture.

Yes, the winters can be very tough, but that makes the summers that much better. The people come out of hiding and make the most of the summers.

There are a ton of really good restaurants here, the fishing and hunting is fantastic.

Plus....the Minnesota State Fair at the end of the summer is one of the best times you'll ever have in your life. I brought a friend of mine from Nebraska last year and he was amazed.

Everyone I know who's visited the place rave about it with the qualifier that you should only visit during the summer.

I grew up just north of Minneapolis in Champlin/Anoka, right next to Brooklyn Park. If you have a family, do it. You'll profit. Great quality of life. You might not know, but Jesse Ventura entered politics as mayor of Brooklyn Park - that's life in MN politics.. You'll never figure it out. Regardless, if you can handle the snow, it's a great spot.

North of the cities is nice. Unfortunately Brooklyn park, Brooklyn center, st. Louis park kinda have gone down hill. South of the cities is nice but a little more pricey but prior lake, eagan, lakeville are safe and great places to live.

It's an awesome city 7-8 months of the year. Winter is brutal. If you put Minneapolis where Memphis is, it'd be one of the best in the country.

It is a great city...but the winters are brutal and they last longer than 3 months despite what some people have posted...
Summer's are great but the mosquitos are worse than Louisiana...
Chicks are pretty damn good...lots of natural blonds and blue eyes...

Summers are awesome and quite beautiful. Now as for the rest of the ye ar, it is miserable. The entire downtown area is practically connected together by what they call the skyway. You can pretty much walk all of downtown without having to endure the blistering cold.

Minneapolis/St. Paul is a GREAT area…when its not winter.

Wonderful place to live and visit though if you can handle the winter. Solid economy, low crime rates, its clean, people are nice, lots of big companies are there, good schools, etc.

Spot on

Al Franken says hi.

(and they like him).

serious answer is to go to a club for fishing the lakes in winter.
wear all that stuff and you won't mind the cold nearly as much.

Big fan. Spend a lot of time both there and in Denver and I can definitely see the similarities. Would probably choose Minneapolis if I had to pick between the two tbh. January-February aren't fun though obviously.

Honestly, one of the best urban cities to live in the US. The people are generally highly educated and very friendly. The Scandinavian blood makes for some beautiful women. As others have mentioned the winters are brutal but it's nice having highs in the mid 70's in August?

Is Pepsi ok? If you answer yes to this question than living up north would agree with you.
