Pros: Great City, good schools, extremely nice peopele (they call it "Minnesota Nice"), good food city and great breweries. Downtown is solid and major sports teams to go see. Incredible lakes and parks where people exercise/picnic etc.

Cons: Its in the north. It gets cold as ball. Accents are absolutely terrible. It gets cold as balls. Its in the north.

Winter is crazy cold, but other than that it's awesome. One of the best cities in America. Great schools, well run government, a lot of top corporations, high education rates. It's basically America's Scandanavia.

There's a saying that it's hard to get people to move to Minneapolis and impossible to get them to leave. Unless you absolutely can't handle the cold you should take the job.

I'm not an expert on the place, but I've always enjoyed visiting there. Very clean , green and really friendly people. It's an awesome sports town too. Lots of good restaurants and bars. If you are the hearty-outdoor type who can deal with the winters, I suppose it's a better place than most.

How's the cost of living compared to BR? I'm a little over 2 years out of school so not making a ton of money.

Looks like it's slightly more expensive than living in the south but doesn't touch northeast or west coast cost of living.

If I wasn't such a pussy about cold weather I would take that job.

Cold in the winter. Had a layover there once and missed a flight. Walking out the airport to a shuttle was the coldest ive ever been in my life

Great area of the country. Great economy. Great town. Just be ready for 3-4 months of rough winter weather.

The summers, spring, and falls are really nice. The winter sucks here. This year wasn't awful, it hit below 0 in the Twin Cities only for 2 weeks I believe. It's cold from October-April sometimes May. It's pretty safe compared to southern big cities. A lot of diversity here. African Americans, somalis, and a lot of Asian folk

My friend's family is from there so they're always telling me about it. As many others have said, amazing place during any season that isn't winter. However, winters are completely nasty.

If you do take it, try to start mending relations between Saints and Vikings fans because my god, they've got some whiny arse fans.

- Outstanding healthcare and education.
- State has close to a billion dollar surplus right now.
- The politics are so stable that we occasionally elect wrestlers, comedians and Michelle Bachman into offices, all for entertainment's sake.
- The Fargo accent is overplayed by outsiders.

They have a water bar in Minniapolis right now. Literally a bar that all they sell is water. From different aquifers around the country. It's an awareness thing.
