I really don't get this.
You put bagged trash in the can. Assuming no leaks, why would it routinely smell?
I get the occasional crawfish boil, but cleaning them solves that. I wouldn't want anything smelly even outside of my house, either.

I dont get the smell thing either. We've got an infant and end up with a bag full of literal shite from his diaper pail each week. Goes in the can in the garage and have never had a smell issue. I mean it doesnt smell pleasant inside the can, but it doesnt smell up the rest of the garage.

Keeping it in the garage is stupid. That's definitely the wrong answer. Your garage will smell like crap.

Can you imagine what it would smell like in a garage that is like 90-100 degree inside all day and night for several months out of the year??

My garage is in the basement. I would guess it rarely gets above 80 in there. If the lid is on the can,you can't smell it.
