Oh good, we have another constitutional scholar posting.

Think I read that a vast majority have been released now, most on reduced bonds, as the system is set up to do.

Also read that LE is now saying only a fraction of the shells recovered came from LE weapons.

Read a funny article of some guy arrested who was complaining. Said "I'm not a member of a gang" and in the very next sentence said he was a member of the Scimitars. Correct me if I'm wrong but aren't they a support group or patching over or whatever you call it to one of the others?

Spinning Waco

quote:

Either the Waco police are lying or the eyewitnesses are. Apparently, a deliberate disinformation campaign began about 45 minutes after the deadly biker massacre in the Twin Peaks restaurant parking lot in Waco on May 17. One must use the word “apparently” because that is how disinformation works.

Three separate narratives describe what happened that day: The official police version which has been most widely parroted by the press; the Cossacks version; and the strikingly consistent version told by everybody else including members of the Bandidos Motorcycle Club.

Why have you waited until now to see the problems with arrest?

This happens every day, just not usually to white people.

Spinning Waco

That is a biker spinning things. Eyewitness testimony can be inherently flawed and hard to accept if it doesn't match the facts. What might have seemed like 1000's of rounds like some bikers have described could very easily be much less and just seemed like that in the stress of the moment.

quote:

The day after the shootout, a Cossack named Scott “Scoot” Keon spoke to the Palestine, Texas City Council. Keon told the local politicians that his club is law abiding.

Now that is funny.

quote:

“On our side, we are not a gang,”

Reminds me of someone saying the only family he is in charge of his wife and kids or proclamations that there is no such thing as a mafia. Why do they even do this? I get it when it's a mom and pop club, but statements like this just make it tough to believe any other word out of his mouth nor the blogger trying to spin them as a peaceful, law abiding group.

So basically this is a biker gang's equivalent of saying "We are all good boys, never hurt no one"

Bump for update...

Waco “Twin Peaks” Witness/Victim Matt Clendennen Gives A News Conference….

It's a bit long (22:40) but is worth the time to listen to what this man and his and other people's attorneys have to say.

That isn't an update. Can you at least provide a summary? No one is going to listen to 20+ minutes.

Well the news conference was from yesterday or the day before so I'd call it an update.

As for what's on the video, first the biker gets up and details what happened to him that day. He is a member of the Scimitars MC. Basically he got to Twin Peaks, went inside and sat on the patio. Shortly thereafter he heard some sort of argument out in the parking lot, right after that a gunshot followed by another. He heard this going on in the parking lot but never saw who was fighting or shooting. While this happened he and everyone else ran inside to get out of the line of fire. After a few minutes the cops came in and arrested everyone who looked like a biker and hit them with a felony "participating in organized crime" charge. They confiscated the only weapon he had on him, a small pocket knife. He was held on $1,000,000 bond for like two weeks before his attorney got him out. But basically his life is already ruined due to the damage to his business.

After he was interviewed his attorney got up and talked to the press and gave details of how this was a railroad job by the Waco PD. He also discussed the controversial "waiver" that's been mentioned before where supposedly in return for signing a paper agreeing to not sue the city of Waco, the bikers could get their bonds reduced. Apparently, there may be some legs to that story but the attorney was not exactly clear on the matter. Basically he said he was in a judge's chamber where it was discussed.

After this attorney came two more attorneys who also spoke to the press and gave details of how what's happened in Waco is very wrong and what continues to happen is very wrong. One of them is representing a decorated combat vet marine who is still in jail on $1,000,000 bond.

You keep mentioning combat war vets in your posts. Do you become unable to commit a crime once you serve in the military?

Looks like the Waco PD's claim of the Twin Peaks being a "trouble" spot is proving to be yet another lie.

Yahoo News: Waco police rarely dispatched to Twin Peaks prior to biker shootout, records reveal

quote:

Patrol officers were seldom sent to investigate trouble at Twin Peaks restaurant prior to the May deadly biker shootout in Waco, Texas, records obtained by Yahoo News reveal.

The scarce number of calls conflicts with how law enforcement portrayed the self-described “breastaurant” immediately after the brazen lunch-hour rampage.

“We have been made aware in the last few months of rival biker gangs — rival criminal biker gangs — being here and causing issues,” Waco police Sgt. Patrick Swanton told reporters outside the sports bar turned crime scene last month. “We have attempted to work with the local management of Twin Peaks to get that cut back, to no avail.”

If Twin Peaks was a powder keg leading up the deadly brawl — there’s apparently not much of paper trail to prove it.

There are a few criminals, but cops are lying.

Same thing as always...

Some criminals and a lot of people who are probably too close to criminality.

But, I do think this is a messed up situation from a legal perspective.

I've been out of town since last Tuesday and have had limited time and cell connection to keep up to date. I'm going through Illinois now and should be home by this evening. Soon as I get unpacked and settled in, I'll see about an update.

In a truly astonishing coincidence, a Waco PD detective has been named foreman of the Twin Peaks Grand Jury LINK
