My wife is in the middle of all this. They're getting push back from FEMA is what she said. At this point they're not wanting to give out money to properties under the Louisiana Housing Authority, which ALL are at least partially funded by the Federal Government. How many people do you think live in subsidized housing in south La? FEMA is saying everything has to go out for bid. As a contractor myself, I'd be very surprised if that process took 6 months or less. That's not how things are handled when it's declared a natural disaster by the Feds. Do you remember Kanye West's comment shortly after Katrina that George Bush hated black people? Obama must hate them worse. A week after Katrina I was what was the Bell South tower on Poydras doing no bid work. Less than a month later, we were building a 700 unit FEMA trailer park in Baker La. That's how it used to work. Please vote to help get the Democrats out of office!

Saw somewhere that you should preserve a piece of sheetrock to show the water level in your house. Is that true?

We left a portion of flooring, baseboard, and sheetrock in each room. Got 3' so we only took out the first layer or sheetrock. They may tell us to go higher.

Registered Monday, automated phone call today saying my case was reviewed and we are being referred to loan. Idk if that's a denial or bc they haven't gotten here yet. I do know they haven't inspected my house so I don't see how my case can be reviewed without inspection.

Are you in a flood zone without flood insurance?

I registered my family Monday and they haven't heard anything. I have all email correspondence coming to me so I can check it frequently(parents have no internet access and my dad isn't computer savvy at all.....he still has a flip phone).

Hard to say when they will contact you. Registered some family Saturday, but not expecting a call this week. Next week at the earliest.

JBE said TODAY in a press conference that money could possibly be available within 48 hours ... wasn't clear if it was within applying or from the time of the PC.

Pretty sure I heard/read this OR take pics of something with it for reference before tearing it out like a tape measure of 6 ft ladder or something.

My wife told me they were giving out loans this morning. She's totally disgusted with this right now. She has a meeting with the head of Emergency Preparedness tomorrow to see if they can get this straightened out so they can pay claims

People that aren't in a flood zone and don't have flood insurance but got flooded, FEMA will require them to carry flood insurance. If you get flooded the 2nd time, not in a flood zone without flood insurance, you won't get squat from FEMA

What did he ask to see? How did he initially contact you to set up the appointment?
