B/c no one would've believed it weighed almost 30 lbs.

Just like no one believes your sister and wife aren't the same person.

I had some douche on a float throw a Heineken bottle at my head because I caught some beads that apparently he was trying to throw to a specific person

I tell you what. How about I throw a 30lb weight into a crowd, and when it hits someone I didnt intend it for. We'll see how they feel about my intentions.

Is this crowd at a parade where you should know ahead of time that you need to be watching for things flying in the air?

And as far as I'm concerned, the bag we're discussing wasn't thrown. You're trying too hard, much like OP.

It's unreasonable to expect a 30lb bag will be thrown or dropped from a float into the crowd. You're the one trying too hard.

If anyone is overly convinced of their own intelligence in this thread or on this board, it is certainly you.

Throwing 30lb bags into crowds is stupid. End of my point. Continue on with thinking otherwise.

Perhaps OP was too busy snagging the bag for himself to notice.

It went to the center of our group and almost hit a cousin's friend. The whole area there was our group, no one knew anyone on that float. It wasn't just dropped, it had a little momentum on it. I honestly thought it was another empty bag or maybe a bag of stuffed animals for the three year old next to me. Had she been hit with that bag would anyone feel different? It's not about beads, or being hit. Hell being hit with a bagged dozen or something happens all the time, my point is 28.2 pounds is way too much to toss off a float. 30 pounds, if that would fall on a kid or a baby or an old person there could be injuries. It's a little much.

What kind of cuck hauls a 28.2lb bag all the way home to take a picture on a scale just so he can bitch to strangers on a message board?

What the frick? Of course I'm keeping what I catch, that's the point, lol.
I weighed it this morning after I was told that it was no where near 30#s.

Is there anything you aren't wrong about? Had it been totally dropped it would not of cleared the barricades, for it to get to me, right behind the person on the barricades it had to have some forward momentum. 30 pounds is way too much to throw from the top deck of a parade float.

From OP.

(people here suck at reading and Lunchbox just likes to argue)

I'm not mad, hell, it's $20-30 worth of beads, bagged and ready fro me to throw, but just shitty that people will risk the safety of others like that.

Before Katrina, I saw two Thoth riders throw full bags at the heads of people who were bent over picking up beads. There are jackasses out there.

Best thing to do is make a note of the float number and the rider's position and report it to the krewe. If they get a lot of independent reports about the same individual, they'll take action. That could be kicking the person out if there's a strong case, or investigating further by seeing if anyone has videotape of an incident. Worst case, a lot of the big krewes have spotters stationed along the parade route. So the following year, the spotters will be told to watch that particular person.

A of krewes, especially, the lower-tier Metairie (which is everyone except Caesar) parades, are full of fast food workers and service personnel.

Just the way it is...

Just what I'm doing, reporting, incident, Float number, and persons name to the parade captain.
Probably won't do anything, I'm just glad no one was hurt. I have seen police stop floats and pull people off for bad behavior before, if someone would have been injured then yes we would have made a bigger stink out of it. I'm more shocked that people think it's fine to throw 30#s off of a float. A lot of people aren't catching 30 pounds falling to them as dead weight.
