Are naturally derived pesticides less toxic than synthetic ones? The answer depends a lot on the dosage, says Gillman. "To control fire blight on the same acre of land," he explains, "I could use a tiny amount of a potent synthetic that has proved safe over the last 50 years, or a much larger amount of an organic pesticide." He demurs on saying which is better, saying, "I want people to know that there are definitely tradeoffs."

In the USDA tests, there was ten times as much spinosad on organic lettuce than was found on conventionally cultivated fruits and vegetables.

Gillman wasn't alarmed by the spinosad finding:

ok that makes more sense

although a lot of "organic" pesticides are bad for you as well

of course, "bad for you" depends on the levels

Youve gotta get those pesticides in you man to improve that immune system. Makes you stronger. I actually cook with Chlorpyrifos instead of olive oil because I like my shite stronger.

yeah, the thing is so much of our produce comes from mexico and they can use some freaky arse stuff down there. And its almost unregulated.

Granted, some of the organic produce comes from mexico and I think their labeling might suck.

SAMs. 200-300 every time. Usually 2-3 times a month with the occassional trip to rouses. Family of 4 (all good eaters, obviously). Don't eat out much, as I enjoy to cook, and restaurants would prefer our two year old not visit their establishment.

I miss Kroger. Kroger has a frozen lasagna that is actually good. It is the kind with more meat and no green crap or ricotta. Buy the frozen garlic bread and wa-la a meal.

Krogers in Va. Bch VA is not ghetto at all. Gas pumps and it is the best grocery store chain that has everything, and just what you need. The best for bakery/deli are Harris Tweeter or Lowes Foods.
