Not sure if mentioned earlier

The BRAF donation will allow for Corporate Matching dollars to be used. That can't be done if donated to a specific individual. My company will match dollar for dollar up to $5,000.

I encourage everyone to look into this if you work for a larger employer. Most Chemcial /Petroleum plants have matching dollars.

Does it have to be here or do the GoFundMe's count?

ETA: NVM, sorry.

The state pays $250,000 to the spouse and $25,000 to any dependent child. The feds pay almost $340,000. This doesn't include any workers comp, life insurance policies, etc. There are other smaller benefits out there.

Like i said before, this is only for line of duty deaths. The system fails severely injured officers that cannot ever return to work.

Donations are really good for everyone, but in my personal opinion donations for a gravely injured officer are more worthy.

That seems like a lot, but it really isn't.

The officers would've easily made that in salary in the next ten years, if not much sooner.

I hope people continue to donate.

From WAFB

ChewOverThis.com has created t-shirts to help support the families of the victims. The site is offering men’s and women’s shirts emblazoned with “Support Baton Rouge” and an image of a badge with a heart inside. The site says part of the proceeds will be donated to the victims’ families.

The Officer Down Memorial Page has also added the names of Montrell Jackson, Matthew Gerald, and Brad Garafola to their site and encourages the community to leave comments about their experiences and relationships with these fallen officers.

The East Baton Rouge Sheriff's Office has established the following accounts to donate money to the families of the fallen officers:

Deputy Brad Garafola Memorial Fund
Corporal Nicholas Tullier First Responder Fund
Sergeant Bruce Simmons First Responder Fund

Donations can be made payable to EBRSO "Name of the Fund" and mailed to P.O. Box 3277, Attn: Finance Office, Baton Rouge, LA 70821.

Geaux Logo Promotions on 5800 One Perkins Place, Suite 4 is selling blue bracelets to support the fallen officers. The bracelets are $2 each and the organization says 100 percent of the proceeds will be donated to the families of the officers. The bracelets will not be available until July 30.
