I'm telling you that not crying doesn't equate to not threatened or doesn't care. Wouldn't you agree with that obvious statement?

I would find it hard to believe someone wouldn't mourn their loved one who was just shot in front of them unless that person knew the shooting was justified.

First off she doesn't just toke J's, she tokes them with her kid in the car and then posts the pictures on social media. So uh yeah I'd say that's bad parenting on multiple levels.

My dad would drink a cold one or three with me in the car when I grew up. Was he a bad parent?

so on topic but also off topic...

basically the state's governor already called this officer a racist

does he have more info on the case than what's already available?

Not crying doesn't equate to not mourning.

Also, watch the entire video, I assume you didn't? You could see/hear her breaking down emotionally more and more as the 9 minute video went on.

How about we lower out expectations for cops and not expect them to act perfect when there is a gun involved?

Nah

They are all-powerful and can ruin anyone's life in the blink of an eye if they decide to do so. I think they should be held to a higher standard, especially given most metro cops now require a bachelors degree. Plus, they have very specific training.

In this instance in particular, the cop doesn't deserve a pass. The Sterling shooting is much different. This one is just downright idiotic on the cop's behalf.

Have you witnessed someone in front of you?

It normally takes a person a little while to process what just happened before the crying and wailing starts.

Anyone with actual authority over people should always be held to a higher standard.

While driving? I would think that qualifies as bad parenting, yes.

I'm sure he does. He's the fricking governor.

As long as we prosecute them fairly, that is fine with me. If you screw up and kill someone you should face the consequences regardless of your shite pay. That is my point.

Again you are assuming that everything the GF says is true, without a 3rd party or the officer's story yet.

If the officer saw the guy squirming and for no other reason shot the guy, there's not a single person that has not said he should be charged criminally for that.

But, if this guy is high as a kite and acting like a fool. Then he yells out he has a gun on him, and reaches into his pants like he is going to grab it. Then that completely changes things right?

My point about not expecting them to be perfect, is maybe you shouldn't test a cop to see how much you can do to them before they kick your butt or shoot back.

No, I'm referring to all cops in that response. If you screw up and kill someone you should face the consequences. It shouldn't be excused away by your shite pay or your thankless job. Neither of those give you a pass to kill someone.

You shouldn't test a cop period, but if you do it shouldn't always be punishable by death.

If he got pulled over for DUI and pulled a gun out, then I surely could see how that would happen.

Here is an honest question about all the protesting and rioting, why not wait until the facts come out and see if they charge the cop or not before protesting and/or rioting? It does them no favor to piss off everyone inside the building before they make a decision.

The cops have lost the benefit of the doubt in certain communities. You're looking at through the lens of someone who respects authority and probably generally receives respect from authority.

I think you're mistaking weed with PCP. Was your friend named Smoky? Did he end up in a chicken coop?

You always hear quotes or just lines about you see the true character of a person when they're faced with adversity.

Nah, you see the true character of a person when you give them power. That's the ultimate test of someone's character IMO.

and how they use said power when they think no one is looking

social media has opened up a whole new can of worms on the police

remember the video from a few months back where a cop shoots a homeless guy in the back as he's running away? Luckily someone was there videoing from afar and Mr. Give Him A Pass wasn't able to lie his way out of it.
