No, you fired and missed again. Stand closer to the barn this time.

I believe only the 3.7L V6 gets the 8.8 and the rest get the 9.75. Usually the 5.0's go with 3.73 gears and the 3.5L EB goes with 3.55 gears.

So the block isn't strong enough, but the engine is?
What the hell is your point???

Christ it's like dealing with a toddler. No genius, read what is actually written. I stated Ford could use the 3.5L if they decided to make it out of CGI (like how part of the 2.7L is) and get the torsional rigidity of the block increased to work in larger truck and increase its output. Like the VM-sourced 3.0 Chrysler is using in the Rams could be used in the 3500's (it's already in much larger trucks overseas) but won't be because there will be complaints that it is "too small" to be durable. The engine design, in and of itself, is extremely abuse tolerant but there is nothing to be gained economically from making the changes to put it in the larger trucks as the market currently stands. Ford's already proven that little V6 can take the worst a 1/2-ton can be reasonably expected to be put through. Don't know why it's such a stretch to think similar engines can't make it in 3/4-ton and 1-ton trucks when they already do but some people you just can't educate it seems.

Ok.
And as it stands they can't, because the engine isn't durable enough unless they redesign it.
I could put anything in anything if I can redesign it. Who cares what it can do if they make it out of an entirely different material? That is a MAJOR design change and it is an entirely different engine at that point.

You better care because in not so many years it will be the dominant option with the way things are currently going. My point is that smaller engines can (and have proven already) to work in larger trucks with no penalty to durability.

I'm not going to argue with a guy with this post history. You seem to know everything about trucks, guns, knives and you name it.
It's amazing to think everyone of these other posters that have called you out in the past are the ignorant ones.
When you get to a point in your life that everyone you come into contact with is an idiot or a moron......maybe it's time to check the mirror

Possibly so.
If we start putting titanium valves, stellite seats, forged Monel crankes and rods, 4140 studs, platinum freeze plugs, titanium manifolds, titanium valve springs, D2 cams, exit we could see incredible power and durability from small engines flowing like big ones.
Bottom line is hp/liter goes up, durability goes down.

The airplane was the least of my threats.

Yeah...I've tried before...usually just ends with petty name calling. He does know his stuff about engines and all...I'll give him that, but he has some unpopular and, in some cases, dumb opinions that he'll vehemently defend.

3.73 gears
That's what I have on my ecoboost and my mileage doesn't fall off towing unless I start going 80 as far as 60 and under it does really well but my mileage plummets over 70 but that's the same for all engines when towing.
