That's what I said earlier but people are saying it's moving either downtown or east.

The only thing on my mind was my wife and nine month old, was freaking scary. I evacuated to the control room at glycol 2 (where the eo plant is) and when they came over the loud speakers frantically yelling to evacuate the plant I shagged arse out of there. I could smell the chemicals for sure when I was rolling out.

The top arrow on the WAFB feed literally points at my house

Dark humor...but I had to laugh.

ETA: frick you downvoter.

Good news coming out, no injuries and chlorine seems to be pushing toward Choctaw trailer park.

I've been through some hazmat response training for chlorine leaks. It's some bad shite.

Chlorine has an expansion ration of 450:1 meaning 1 cubic foot of stored chlorine expands to a 450 cubic foot vapor cloud.

Do you guys have gas masks available around the plant? Telling people to run while there is poison gas outside is pretty reckless imo...

Iberville Sheriff Brett Stassi says black smoke seen coming from Dow is NOT chlorine. There was a "burp" of chlorine but black smoke result of power loss.

I made it out, left everything I have there, it was crazy. I have no way to communicate with anyone right now so I don't know whats going on. All I know is the power went out across the plant and all hell started breaking loose.

Can't communicate with anyone but can post on TD?

There was an initial vent of chlorine to the stacks when it tripped. Single release, not ongoing per onsite sauces

Il be honest the last thing on my mind was the freaking gas masks. I was able to post on here because Im home on my wife laptop, but no house phone or no Facebook makes it hard to communicate. We haven't recently had a turn around or anything, our problems came from the power outage.
