Yeah. Green clouds. Blowing toward the the house. Told my wife to stay in baton rouge and I am as well.

Buddy said everyone was getting out within 10 minutes of the incident.

I made it out, left everything I have there, it was crazy. I have no way to communicate with anyone right now so I don't know whats going on. All I know is the power went out across the plant and all hell started breaking loose.

Guy who was in plant said his area pulled into the control room, they saw green, and then they ran.

Just crossed the old bridge. The smoke from those flares is crazy.

No plumes. It appears it was a single release.

Anybody that thinks they might be in the path of this thing, resist the urge to go outside and look for it.

Close any doors and windows. Turn off heat or a/c. Towels under the doors probably won't really help much but might make you feel better. Plastic or visquine taped over the doors and windows is the best thing you can do, assuming you have the supplies.

Stay safe everyone.

ETA: The black smoke isn't great but isn't a terrible thing. Green/Yellow cloud is very bad.

Double ETA: Anyone trying to get home near the plant right now, if you can, go somewhere else for a few hours. May not be imminent danger in your area, but the wind could shift. Plus traffic is going to suck.

My mom lives less than a mile from Dow. In Plaquemine, she just called me to tell me she was trying to get home and it is blocked off and they are not allowing anyone to go through.
