there is a Gelato/Sandwich shop in the shopping center at Acadian and Perkins with the Trader Joe's and Acme that has a small outdoor area where you can bring your dog.

I think having dogs in a restaurant is gross. They shed and their hair gets everywhere.

But but but but my dog doesn't do that!!

If it is somewhere where I might be eating, I don't want your damned dog around.

And people who bitch about dogs on patios at restaurants are miserable people?? Well if not wanting to watch your dog piss on the patio at the Bulldog while I am trying to enjoy a drink and a snack makes me a miserable person, then sign me up. And yes, I have seen this on more than one occasion.

Don't eat there.

I bring my dog to a vet located off Magazine Street in New Orleans. It's right next door to Mahoney's.

I bring mine all the way back up to Pville. We should trade vets.

Chimes had no problem, but you could tell people were not used to seeing dogs at a restaurant. When we lived that way we went to Red Zeppelin all the time with no problem.

Baton Rouge absolutely sucks in this regard fwiw. Most enjoyable mid-sized cities in the country have a lot of dog friendly options. Such as Charleston, Savannah, Nashville, Austin, Denver, New Orleans, etc. You know, places people actually want to visit. Of course shithole Baton Rouge is behind in this regard both in options and public opinion.

And of course all of the majors do like Atlanta, LA, New York, Dallas, etc.

If people don't enjoy it, go to one of the MAJORITY restaurants and bars that aren't dog friendly and mind your own business. You've got exponentially more dining options than people who are looking for a dog friendly place.

ETA:

We bring our dog every where. Because of this he is really socialized and just chills on the ground next to us. The dog friendly spots in Nashville are awesome and they always give him water and treats.

I normally go to Dutchtown Animal Hospital, but Dr. Teresa Gernon specializes in ear cropping for Dobermans and I have brought her here since the beginning of May every week to ensure she is receiving the best possible care and attention.

Yeah, I am not sure if Jonathon does ear cropping. Always does a good job with our high maintenance beagle.

He does not. I've already checked. Not too many places do it, as it is a learned skill that isn't taught in school.

Other than that, he is a great vet. I totally trust him with my two dogs.

Then don't go back to places that are dog friendly?

I feel sorry your only friend is a dog, and that you need people to come up and pet your dog and tell you how cute it is.

Like I said, then don't go there. I highly doubt the type of places that promote this sort of thing would miss the type of people who get upset about it (you know, dumb people, like you).

Its baffling.

There are so many more non-dog friendly options. Like, its not even close. Just don't go there.

And if a dog on a patio grosses you out too much to eat or enjoy yourself, you're an enormous wimp

The wife and I love to bring our dog out whenever we can because he is in the house 5 days a week all day by himself. He loves going out on the town with us.

Leave your large rodent at home. It's not a person. It only cares about you because you feed it. It would eat your corpse if you died at home and no one discovered it for a while.

I don't.

Just so you know, i own two dogs that i love.
When we eat, at home, they aren't allowed in the kitchen.

Like i mentioned last time this stupid topic was covered, how would you like it if i brought my pet raccoon to a restaurant, or a cage of parakeets?

Again...if a restaurant has a sign on the door that says "Dog Friendly" maybe that's a clue that they are ok with people bringing their dogs.

I've never been to a place that allowed dogs that had dogs acting out of hand. Everytime I've seen dogs...they lay on the ground below the table. People come up and pet them and they are given a bowl of water and maybe some treats.

at the 'stinky' dog comments. I run across more stinky people than dogs.

So you're ok with bringing other pets too? pigs, racoons, birds, hampsters, ferrets, etc.

Well restaurants don't allow that. Only dogs. But if a restaurant said "Hamsters Welcome" and I don't like hamsters....I'm gonna just go to another restaurant instead of eating there and being outraged that someone brought a hamster.

And all the dog friendly places here have signs outside saying they are dog friendly. Usually says something like "Dogs welcome on patio" or something like that.
