Not in Alligator, Mississippi.
In this video on the Delta around the 11 min mark, the mayor says they've reached out to Dollar and they won't reply. LINK

I don’t think you can make it out of my home town on any semi-major road without passing one.

Legitimately four or five that I can think of off the top of my head in a city of ~40000. And that’s not counting Dollar Trees or Family Dollars.

They just opened a new one on Hwy 308 north of Labadiville. Funny thing is, there is one 3 miles south of that and another 3.5 miles south of that one. Lots of cars in the parking lot when I pass by, so they must know what they are doing.

If they don't have what you need, just go next door to the family dollar.

They aren’t just in small towns, my parents live in a very rural place and have 2 dollar generals within 5 miles of their house. The closest town is 10 miles from them.

There are seven in Brookhaven Mississippi alone. A town of about 10,000 people. There are another seven or eight around in the county as well. And this does not take into account Family Dollar and Dollar Trees

We live roughly equidistant from two out in the sticks. One is a depressing methfest. The other is super nice. They remodeled it recently and actually has full produce section and decent beer selection. It’s just good ole country folk and Mexicans who work the fields. I don’t think they’re sold a single Bud Light since the tranny ban.

Only the good ones. If your town doesn't have a DG you suck.

They started up here in Nashville. The founder is a billionaire. They must be doing something right.

Dollar General, at one point, was Wal Marts biggest competitor. I am not sure if they still are with Amazon an all, but 15-20 years ago that was the case. Thats DG and Tractor Supply's target areas.

We have a DG and a family dollar/dollar tree combo on opposite corners. This is in a “town” of about 450 people.

My wife and I just went camping in one of the tiniest little towns in Mississippi that I’ve ever seen. There were DG/Family Dollar combos everywhere. Gotta be the largest employer in towns like that.

I saw my first Dollar General Market store last week in Dekalb, TX (south of Oklahoma).

Never knew they existed.

My dad said they were everywhere a long time ago, and they all disappeared, then showed up again about 15 years ago.
