This isn't really true. We have the capacity to reason and to build things to detect what we cannot. Those are very powerful things that have allowed us to discover things that are otherwise outside of our "five senses."

For me, there has to be shite out there beyond that. To reject the idea is borderline stupidity.

We can't "see" radio waves or otherwise detect them with our "five senses" but they are there. That's just one example. Taking a stand on this issue is kind of silly.

There are some migratory birds that can sense the polarity of the earth to find their way north/south

Irrelevant but amazing

A compass can do that. Also irrelevant and equally uninteresting.

Actually, college science textbooks do acknowledge that science and the supernatural are separate - I still have mine.

If lots of people seeing things equates to the scientific process, then you better start accepting the supernatural.

Exactly! There are loads of phenomena that are only detectable by instruments and not by our five senses.

There are many phenomena that are being studied where the jury is still out as to whether they are real or not...Dark Matter and Dark Energy are two that come to mind and are in the news a lot these days.

That must be a really poor and dumbed down textbook.

This is a semantic argument...over the meaning of the word supernatural. By default, there can be no such thing as supernatural...either matter, energy or phenomena. If it exists then it is natural and subject to study. Not all things have been proven and discovered yet.

Conservatives tell us that unless you believe in little baby Jesus he will frick you up the arse with a red hot poker for all eternity....so supernatural eternity must exist.

I'll play this game your libtard way, I'm offended.

But seriously if you think that's the only reason conservatives are conservative, then you don't understand economics. Quick lesson for you, have you ever seen a poor person hire someone? Class dismissed.

Wow! I guess you are offended. I'm not a libtard but I was taught that in church when I was a wittle wost wamb.

Well that doesn't exactly answer the question now does it?

There isn't any reason why humans are the only mammals that get to experience an afterlife. Furthermore I have a hard time believing that something "supernatural" and so powerful and incomprehensible to us would ever give a shite about humans or letting us cheat death.

If there is such a force, they are probably not concerned with the doings of ants in a snow globe in the middle of the Sahara that is just our solar system or take the time to reveal themselves to us.

May I suggest you consider that God just wants us to love him back?

I kind of wish people would just collectively agree that no one has a fricking clue what happens when you die and be done with the debate. There will always be speculation, no matter what scientific discovery is made.

That's what I think about it but then again I know I am smart so I don't have to impress by boasting about how I don't believe anything.
