Thats why we are choosing to rent for a year. Get a feel for the area. I would like to end up on 5+ acres and either build or find a nice house.

St. Martin is the bridge connecting Ocean Springs to D'Iberville. A lot of the trash spills over..

I grew up in Biloxi.

OS has a larger high school than St Martin , but I really couldn't tell you anything about their academics.

Vancleave is too rural for my taste.

Bitch please.

The OP just needs to move to D'Iberville, grow a flavor saver, and gel his bangs down.

The poor people don't buy homes so they affect one stat and not the other? I have no idea.

Or some of the not many homes are million plus dollar homes and the owners moved here with money and don't work. I don't know either.

Alot of people rent houses downtown. You might not find the highest end house for rent but location is great. We are actually moving there soon and plan to rent for awhile.

OS has brand-new facilities and a great school system, but you'll pay for it in property taxes. St. Martin is part of Jackson County Schools, as is Vancleave. The county schools are ok, and pretty solid. Where you want to live depends on what you're willing to deal with. Ocean Springs is nice, Vancleave is rural, but not too far from everything, and St Martin is a mix of good and bad burbs. Move to Moss Point, it'll toughen up your kids.
OS HS does offer an International Baccalaureate program, don't know of many high schools in MS that do that.

Its hard being an LSU fan in Shelby County, AL. My oldest kid has street cred, Briarwood representin...the baby, she was born in AL so she has redneck tendenacies already.

Also wanted to add: if you'll be travelling to Mobile everyday and you need quick access to I-10, St Martin and Vancleave would be your best bet. One negative about St Martin--AP classes for them are sometimes offered only at Vancleave HS, which would involve your kids driving 20 miles out into the country every day.

Ocean Springs is a great place. Good schools and a friendly clean town. Pascagoula isn't bad either.

For the one that said Bay he is misled. Bay has some great restaurants, but the schools suck. Pass is just across the bridge and has great schools
