I just bought some cool looking 1938 German coins on ebay. What other items from that era should I collect that aren't really expensive?

I've heard French Medals of Courage are pretty rare.

Good one! The British also never recovered after Dunkirk, the Americans lost the war after the Japanese invaded the Philippines, and Russia was toast after hitter handed them their asses in Barbarossa.

a have an amazing collection of about 125 different pocket watches. some that were used to time actual bombings back in the day... some of them are a few hundred years old. most were used in WW1 and WW2

not sure how much the collection is worth but it has to be a lot. it has been passed down to me with the generations

Just have a German Luger passed down from my great Uncle to my dad and to me. The gun is complete with original holster, Nazi belt, and all the Nazi metals taken off the German officer my uncle killed.

My uncle fought in the tank division in Africa fighting Rommel in the North Africa Campaign.

I'll see if I have some on my phone, it's locked up in a safety deposit box currently.

I have mixed emotions about it in the house, the whole bad gris gris aspect.

That's pretty badass.

Post some pics.

When I was a kid uncle got me on the look out for war time nickles 1942-1945 which are 35% silver. I still watch for them today and came across two a few weeks ago. They aint worth alot, but are worth alot more than a nickle.

Yes. My dad and I started collecting them about over 15 years ago.

Other coins.

Everything is pretty expensive. Some of the items that I recall seeing 15 years ago have doubled in price. Collect whatever items interest you but you really kind of have to pick a few things that are a reasonable expense and that you would like to have the most. We traveled around to collectors shows across the south and one thing you gather is that everybody tends to have a particular focus to their collections, whether it's a particular country or particular type of item like medals or badges.

My dad did all the purchasing of course, but I just made my first purchase of an authentic item from the era for him for Father's Day. It was a Swiss helmet and Swiss WWI/WWII mobilization badge. Cost me about $200 for both and to have them shipped.

The British that escaped at Dunkirk while thousands of French soldiers died holding off the Germans at the outskirts of town for a critical period of time might disagree with you.

I have a Kar98 and a Walther P38. A shitload of different coins. Also a couple of german DVG membership pins, medals, a German "mothers cross", helmets and a third reich battle flag. I have this rangefinder (atleast that's what I think it is) that I always bring to people and they say they've never saw anything like it before and can't explain what it is.

Occupied France panties are a pretty specialized area of collectible and perhaps and area you could pioneer.

I have a luger my grandfather brought home. You have some coins, might try paper money. We had some from WW2 Phillipiens(sp) paper money that was printed on brown paper bags. Pretty cool.
