Do you protect your wife/girlfriend from beads?

I noticed yesterday at endymion that a lot of guys were just letting women get splacked in the face with beads.
I was always taught, keep your eyes open and don't let anyone in your immediate vicinity catch anything with their face.
The only time I reached out to stop anything not headed for my wife was a gallon ziploc of beads thrown from the top of the boat. It was headed straight for an old woman's face.
Her response, "THOSE ARE MINES!"
Should have let them send her to the ER, but I didn't want higher taxes.

I don't know but I'm really anti-ladder now. People leaving them on the sidewalk flattened down in a crowd of people

When I regularly went to the Endymion Extravaganza with the ex-wife, that's all I did for her and her cousins. Saved them a few times from what would have been pretty nasty injuries had a bag of pearls connected with their face.

I got smacked in the face pretty hard with beads last week. The guy felt terrible when he realized I was pregnant.
So I stood towards the back while my husband played guard. He had fun dodging for beads the rest of the parade.

Ha probably not. Which he really shouldn't. It wasn't intentional. He threw short of the person he was trying to reach and got me instead.
