I had a very large gunnite pool in my previous home. I had more work to do monitoring chemistry.
The pool I installed in my new home is fiberglass and fairly small. I’ve had it 3 years, and never had to do more than chlorine tabs in the cylinder, scoop debris with a net, vacuum occasionally, brush the sides occasionally, and clean the filter a couple of times a year.
I don’t even have test kits.

If so, is it worth the Hassle?
I used to have one and didn't feel like it was worth the hassle. That said, there are some days I wish I had one.

Yes. I live in S. Fla. many people have them. Never freezes, never have to drain it. It’s saltwater.
Wears my three kids out like nothing else so yeah it’s worth paying a baw to take care of it. Never been even a minor hassle.

I do --for me it's not ---- but my Wife and 3 kids love it

because, you, like me get to be the one to maintain it, fix shite that breaks, keep the debris out & the chemistry balanced.
the wife and kids pretty much just put on swimsuits and jump in.
